Ultra with SD865 - yes....but I would not touch the Exynos variant that I believe is the only one officially available in the UK.

I agree, I wouldn't pay this kind of money, if I did I'd still go ultra tbh.

But then, I'd probably go with the mi 10 ultra out of all 4.

£20 cheaper than the previous best deal. Its a no brainer (if I did not already have the phone!).

This vs the Sony Xperia 1 II for £721?
Got a oneplus6 at launch and i've never looked back. If the damn thing would stop being stubborn by working perfectly, and just break, i'd be all over this

In all honesty, I'd go for the ultra at £769, Personal choice, better all rounder tbh

True - I did weigh up getting the Xperia as its specs are also excellent, but this is a better fit for me personally - due to the better battery life overall (although not as good per mah), and the faster charging (wired and wireless).

Correct. In India too they keep that processor and it's a disappointment. Samsung thinks only US deserve SD SoC

Does it have warranty?
Wow we have the same people making the same Exynos comments in every thread, I wonder if they have actually every bought a top flight Samsung phone?
Anyway this still costs too much for a OnePlus phone, the Mi10 Ultra really does hammer home that point.

I had a s7 edge with Exynos chip it overheated and killed the Motherboard. Only phone I’ve had and I’ve had a few that has ever failed in that way!

Ok so you didn't didn't have the good fortune to run Into the issue on the Snapdragon:
805, 808, 810,820,821.
I also heard a few 855 driven OP7 Pros went pop on release I bet they never had a device do that before either, unless they had a 805,808,810,820,821.
OP8 Pros were being replaced due to heat and fried mobo's too.
Pixel have a long list of heat, bootloop/ fried mobo's
Apple bootloops/ fried mobo's
LG obviously
And if I dropped into Qualcomms history on midrangers that's where you will find real some carnage
Funny how people never seem to mention this when they talk about other mobile platforms.

The Exynos is better than any other SOC bar the SD865.
I bet you didn't know the Exynos is running on last year's architecture, just like the Kirin.
Using the architecture Qualcomm used last year the Exynos and Kirin produce MORE, I wonder why this isn't reported anywhere?

I tell you why because it's not clickbaite.
I wonder why Exynos and Kirin are not being given the current years architecture, could it be to do with why Qualcomm are in court for monopolies?

Given that it's unlikely (sadly) that there'll be a global release of the Mi 10 Ultra, I don't suppose anyone knows what the drawbacks / downsides are to picking up a flashed version from sites like eGlobal and the likes please?

I've got the 6t, and the battery is starting to drain pretty fast now so I'm in the market for something new. On paper it seems like the Mi 10 Ultra smashes both the OP 8 Pro and S20 Ultra alike - certainly for the money.

Calm down I’d rather the Exynos and Kirin did better to put pressure on Qualcomm. Simply put Samsung are ripping off customers with an inferior chip. Charging same price for both versions of same phone.

I don't believe you can buy a flashed version of the Mi 10 ultra yet, so you'd be buying a Chinese version with google play services installed, you can remove most of the Chinese bloat, but there will be some apps you can't remove.

Also no band 20 so I'd factor that in before you go ahead

Ahh okay, figured there'd be a global rom by now. Might be one on XDA (I'm just about savvy enough to risk bricking my new £700+ phone heh)?

Band 20 is the biggie though as I'm a Voda customer, and that ain't getting fixed in a global rom .

Bloody shame 'cos it seems like an awesome phone. Wonder why they haven't released it globally

Thing always letting op phones down is the canera, now the UI has had an "upgrade" **cough Samsung One UI cough** I don't see the need to spend that kind of money on an op phone anymore, when you have phones like the Mi 10/10 pro/ultra etc.

Oh absolutely. OP have made a bit of a rod for their own backs because they're now judged in the same league as Samsung despite being a fair bit cheaper still. Problem is that whilst they're still cheaper than Samsung, they're still vastly more expensive than they were a few years ago with persistent issues like the camera as you say to resolve. And then the Mi 10 Ultra comes along puts pretty much all the competition to shame - at least on the camera front.

It sucks as well because I never wanted all the guff that OP owners were asking for. Don't care if its IP rated since it was unofficially fine and I tend not to take a grands worth of phone swimming with me. Don't care if it charges wirelessly 'cos it takes fifteen minutes on the arm of the sofa and it's good to go.

Anyway I digress. This is a great deal for sure, but I'd personally not buy the 8 at this point because I know I'd be gutted in a couple of months when the T version is out. Hoping they ditch the stupid infrared camera thing and improve the camera experience overall. If they do that, I'd be quite happy to buy in unless the Mi 10 Ultra (or whatever they call it here) is available in which case I'll fight an old lady with a stick to get my hands on one
