Not a bad move, be many years before I see proper 5G, So I'll stick to 4G smartphones for the time being.

5G will happen in the same way 4K TV's happened.

At first expensive and non essential and all people saying I won't be buying one, until today where the price is sometimes cheaper getting a 4K TV, good luck finding 1080P with smart functionality ect.

I won't be having 5G until its standard and 5G tarrifs are slighty more expensive then 4G

I have no thought in the last 2 years, I wish my download speed was higher.

No me neither, don't get me wrong, if I saw a note 10 plus and 10 plus 5g priced the same, I'd go for the 5g version, bit of a no brainer, it's actually at the point now where 5g phones are ultra affordable (mix 3 5g, A90 5g) so probably the better future proofed choice for many.

Will battery life improve though, if not I will still stick to 4G even when same price for both

but again rarely im on data so should not make much diffrence

Battery life will improve, it already is in the newer 865 5g variants.

Only reason not to get 5G Note 10 is the dual hybrid SIM slot which can be handy. My Mi Mix 3 5Gs turned up the other day, absolute bargain - 5G SD855 flagship phones at Pocophone prices!

It's a bargain until you realise your battery last 3 hours

The missus loves hers, absolutely loves it, never uses the slider. But I agree on your point.

She isn't a massively heavy user, but she gets good battery life.

That's probably why, she isn't a heavy user. I'm sure you've seen me post about the bugs on it.

I have, however she hasn't experienced anything, going by what she tells me, it's amazing, I didn't use it much before I gave her the phone.

Bingo.

The Oneplus 7T is great, had it a few days and love it.

It obviously lasts longer than 3 hours. I can live with shorter than expected battery life anyway - I have an Exynos S9 now and been using an iPhone so carrying a battery pack is second nature.
Exynos is the whole reason I'm moving on from S10e, love everything else about the phone but battery is just trash on mobile data. Massively better on WiFi so clearly SoC just isn't up to Snapdragon level of efficiency.

Think I'm settled on OP 7 Pro as a replacement, notchless screen, 90Hz panel and that software I keep hearing about. Probably worth waiting until OP 8 is released so can grab one at a further discount.

Good choice, currently using the 7t and its a very good phone, 90hz is nice wasn't a deal breaker, camera good, standout imo is the screen, one of the best screens on a phone apart from Samsung flagship.
