** Unfortunately Comet have no product description on their site. I have taken the details below from the description at Audiovisual online.**

you’re looking for a versatile and compact music solution for smaller spaces, the stylish CBX-600UKD is a compelling choice. Despite its modest size, this all-in-one audio system delivers a thoroughly vibrant performance. The key is the iPod dock’s digital connection, which gives far greater fidelity than analog. Located not on top, but front and center, the retractable dock also helps to give the system a streamlined profile. As well as handling standard CDs and MP3/WMA-encoded discs, the CBX-600UKD features a DAB tuner to provide unlimited access to free-to-air radio content. The speakers incorporate proven Onkyo technologies such as OMF diaphragms and Aero Acoustic Drives, while the remote adds iPod browsing to the usual convenient control functions.

LOL thought I would beat them in, but looks like a great price, for a great brand, thanks for the post op, heat...

I so want to vote this cold simply because of the stupid and deeply unfunny comments.

you're very witty yourself

Anyone wanting this as a fully integrated iphone system might want to think again:

Banned

"Unheard of brand" wasn't funny after about the 5th time tbh

This is why the "unknown brand" quotes are still fairly funny & the only reason I read these Onkyo threads :). Well, we can at least let them go today due to it being April Fools!

Don't onkyo pretty much make the speakers for Bose?

Any info / experiences of actual sound quailty?

Shame I have my music on a Desire HD now. Heat anyway

I think these Onkyo threads are great and deserve Heritage Status or Grade II listing or whatever.

Your average Alba does not have "OMF diaphragms and Aero Acoustic Drives" whatever they are!

Has anyone bought one and can offer an opinion of sound quality?"

Good price. Have reserved one at my local Comet.

Blurb from manufacturer:
eu.onkyo.com/pro…tml

And I buy Sony stuff too

Exactly what I was looking for, thanks very much

Cheaper to build your own,

sorry wrong thread.

Picked one up yesterday sounds brill.
Very pleased.

Mine arrived this morning and I have to say I'm not impressed at all, asthetically its lovely but as soon as the music started I was soooo disappointed !
We got the Roberts Mp53 (http://www.froogle.hughesdirect.co.uk/mp3-and-radio/radio/rob-sound-mp53/product) before Xmas and I was expecting a similar quality sound to be honest , both RRP's were close - £284.99 for the Roberts and apparantly £269.99 for the Onkyo.
However they are a world apart in terms of sound quality , minimal distortion at 90% + volume with the Roberts , wheras the Onkyo is so distorted you just have to turn it down to around 80% volume. The sound is lifeless with the Onkyo and yet the Roberts system fills the room with lifelike sound, seriously the difference is like night and day....needless to say I'll be returning the Onkyo, such a shame as I thought I'd bagged a bargain.
Anyone happy with the sound of this clearly hasn't listened to anything better , the Roberts is around £235 ish (best internet price) so its more money but I couldn't live with the Onkyo, 15 minutes trial is all its getting.
I own a bose wave radio as well and the Roberts , although not as loud compares well and for value for money I'd rate the Roberts best by a clear mile !

Hope my review helps guys .....

Ta very much for the review. Was deliberating over this for a while but now glad I didn't order one.

Onkyo has been making quality Audio products since 1946. It has an annual turnover of 18 billion Yen which is about £130m for their Audio products. Their products are more popular in Germany as their European HQ is in Germany. This is a brand appreciated by hi-fi users of Japanese electronics.

I think Rooney10's comment about his unit bad sound is probably a duff unit, exchange for another one. Or is it he Wayne Rooney so when scoring a hat trick one normally get very happy rather than totally **** off!

Many thanks for your posting rooney10.
I've been looking for a review of the Onkyo CBX-600 for months and I've finally found one! I was puzzled why no one seems to have commented on it. Amazingly, I too have a Roberts MP53 (had it for over a year) and fully agree with your comments about the excellent sound quality - it's just so natural. I was hoping that the Onkyo would be comparable, but in a smaller space - I'm looking for a compact DAB/FM radio & CD player for the kitchen and seeing it at £150 at Comet I was tempted. Given what you say, I'm unlikely to buy one now.
