Here are the specs & datasheet.

Specs & Datasheet
These are only 5.1 speakers

‘Onkyo SKS-HT588 5.1 Ch Dolby Atmos Ready Speakers‘ is the website description. They are only Atmos ready, you would need to add the extra 2 atmos speakers to make it 5.1.2

No they are 5.1.2 please read the specs & datasheet and please do not read to much into the Hughes Description which says they are 5.1.

I know its confusing but watch the video and see the specs & datasheet, thanks.

My bad, it took another website to indicate the height speakers and front speakers are both in one! Apologies!

Dont worry, its okay, you wont be the 1st to comment, I know its quite confusing, its just the way Hughes have titled them which makes its so confusing.
I bought one of these just over a year ago and it is fantastic, great quality sound and build quality, all the inputs you could ever need. Very pleased with it even at the full price I paid!

Do you know how to get the speakers to work with the TV? It works on my blu ray, PS4 etc but not the actual apps I use directly from the TV. What could I be doing wrong?
If only they were wireless. I'd be all over it
I wish my budget could stretch to these, does anyone know what the best sub £200 set of speakers out there is?

I bought a used onkyo 686 reciever off Facebook marketplace for £50 but really want the speakers to be new.

I have been thinking about getting these

Just to point out that this appears to be a 5.1 system, not 5.1.2

how is your system setup? I would guess the hdmi from the console goes to the receiver and then the tv so the problem is the audio isn't being returned through the cdmi from the tv for the apps. have you tried running an optical cable from the tv out into the receiver tv-in - there should be an option on your tv sound settings to send audio to an external speaker.? If that works then fine, but you should be able to get it to work over cdmi as it has an audio-return channel, I don't use it though im afraid so don't have any idea how it should be set up.
I've had these speakers for almost 2 years, they are better than the price, I first used them with an onkyo Atmos receiver not a high end one and the sound was very good however I upgraded to a denon 2500h and the sound is just phenomenal, the sub is really well integrated, I switched to these from a more expensive tannoy 5.1 setup that were slightly too big for my space and honestly these are better thy aren't the prettiest and they don't feel like quality speakers but the sound is equal to more expensive systems just pair them with a good quality receiver, the Denon 2500h is an excellent choice price/performance wise.

Have you got the avr connected to the arc input on the tv. Check the sound settings on the tv e.g. alow Anynet+ (HDMI-CEC) on Samsung's as well as the hdmi settings on avr

This is £1.19 so would make price £330.19 with 20 pounds off.

May be worth adding into description op?

Voted hot, better deal to add something for £1 and use SEPT20, may worth adding this in description. With some luck, you find an Onkyo, Yamaha or even Denon receiver for about £200 and you have the whole system for under £550.

Or you go with a wireless such as this one, or Damson S Series (with 15% off)

This looks like a great deal, wish I needed a set! Heat
There's no doubt that this set is good value, but c'mon guys, that tiny centre speaker can't be up to much?
Sofa so good on the lack of yoghurt comments...
I’ve had these about 18 months paid £399 from Hughes via amazon. I’d recommend them highly. The Dolby atmos demo sounds amazing on them. Got them paired with a onkyo receiver, forget the model number.

Absolutely this. I recently disconnected my system to redecorate the lounge a few weeks back and had lost sound from the TV apps after connecting it all back up. Scratched my head for a few hours before realising I connected it to a different HDMI port on the TV and only HDMI 4 supports ARC on my Samsung, doh! I connected it all originally myself too, not like I didn't know what I was doing.

Thanks. Tried all this. Still nothing. It's in arc. There's a hdmi going from TV out on avr to tv. It's very strange. Not sure what I'm doing wrong. Attached pics below

Just seen your post after mine, maybe not! If the AVR is on the right input for TV Audio it would have to be something on the TV or AVR HDMI settings. I have a Denon so not sure on your AVR's settings, sorry. What is it you have, an Onkyo?
I wish I’d gone for something like this. I bought a pair of Monitor audio gold 300, 4th generation. I thought it would be easy to get a hold of a Monitor Audio Gold C350 centre speaker. But they are like hens teeth

Doesn't look much, if at all, smaller than my Q Acoustics 3090c. I also have a PS4 Pro and using that as a comparison.

I listented to this, a Monitor Audio Mass and what I ended up with - Q Acoustics 3050 fronts, 3090c, 3010 rears and 3070s sub. This sounds excellent for the price, but it didn't pass the wife test along with the Monitor Audio Mass - didn't like the 'look' of them so I endend up spending more than twice as much and still need Atmos speakers on top. As I already, after 13 months want a bigger sub myself, I'm glad I spent more on the speakers. My advice is if you're interested in these, demo them and only them then live happily. If you get bit, you will want more and it's easy to get caried away.

Yes Onkyo - very same one in this deal. I can never get the receiver on-screen menu settings to work. I have to use the buttons on the actual receiver. Strange. Maybe it's because there's nothing plugged in here below in TV section? I thought TV hdmi out is enough?
