I've been looking around for this box of tricks and this is the best Delivered price that I've found - but I'm sure someone will find somewhere cheaper [LOL]

Reviews seem good to with a 4.5/5 rating on Amazon from 20 reviews.

The HT-S5305 package offers an easy springboard into the world of quality home cinema. Driving this 5.1-channel system is a high-value A/V receiver with a fine selection of today's home cinema technology. For a start, HDMI 1.4a-the latest version of this advanced transport-opens up exciting possibilities with the new 3D video format. Using the three HDMI inputs on the receiver, you can connect your favorite input devices-for example, a Blu-ray player, game console, and cable/satellite tuner. In keeping with Onkyo's enduring audio legacy, the receiver also handles high-definition lossless codecs from Dolby and DTS-a slice of high-end luxury now made affordable. To this, add a handy On-Screen Display function for easy adjustment of settings; four gaming audio modes; and a Universal Port for single-cable connection of peripherals. The accompanying surround speaker package includes a powered subwoofer that delivers deep bass impact without drawing power from the receiver.

Wait for it....

were the sub woofer issues resolved with this?

Hmm..IV never heard of this brand..are they any good? £300 is a bit much..rather get a Sony surely at that price?!

Popping sub woofer.

Who the hell are Onkyo? Sony much better for the money. Cold.

Should be ashamed of yourself, where's your self-control?

Isn't that joke stale now?

Had a play with one of these a week or two ago. The build quality is quite poor, very cheap feeling plastics. (I assume to get down to this price)

Bought the Yamaha 467 instead and the build quality is in a different league.....

You obviously dont know anything about A/V AMPs then. Onkyo are probably the best brand out there.

Really? You must be new to the AV scene.

The only problem is that these are from a third party seller, not Play and are "B-stock units", so they're refurbished.

Amazon sell them brand new for £314.99 if anyone's interested.

Or for up to the 6305 with active sub and the 508 Amp PLUS the iPod Dock (£60 quid on it's own) from Richer Sounds @ £399
