Good receiver but if the Network functionailty isn't needed it doesn't add much to the discontinued 608 that can be picked up for around £250-£300 now

Who is this make? Seems like a lot of money, better off with a known brand like sony.

oh gawd!

The thumbnail looks like a sofa.

Strangely this is why I am looking at this model, why do you say LAN is not needed and does the 608 support it?

Onkyo are much better than Sony, any audio / visual enthusiast will tell you this. Just take a look at the review from whathifi

I subscribe to Napster and so having this built into the amp would save me having to run a computer through it. There is also some decent internet radio stations out there also

I am looking to replace my Yamaha RX-V1700 and the ONKYO is stunning value, especially at £399.

Them Onkyo jokes are sooo old and boring... it makes me shudder when i see a decent Onkyo amp listed!! its pathetic.

I have a HTPC mounted to the back of my Plasma running XBMC...there isn't anything a network connection on my amp could add that my HTPC can't do better already.

Reading the original post it says: "Use code CINEMA125A to get the price down from £499 to £437 ".

I assume that you have to order online unless the store accepts the code prior to purchase. Perhaps you can purchase online and collect at store.

Ilepak, mike was referring to richer sounds who have gone back to full price
