O&O DiskImage 4 Professional is a powerful tool which takes the hard work out of backing up your valuable files by creating an image of entire drives or partitions.

Images can be saved to another drive or partition, or stored on a network drive and high levels of encryption can be used to ensure that no data can be accessed without authority. Image compression can be used to help reduce the amount of storage space that is needed to house backups, and entire drives can be restored in just a few clicks of the mouse.

In the event of a disaster, once an image is created complete, differential or incremental it is no longer necessary to start a time consuming reinstallation of all applications and the operating system, as all data is once again readily available. Data loss is now a thing of the past. As well as the continuous improvement and enhancement of existing program components, there is now a broad selection of helpful and new functions available in version 4.

Backup images created with O&O DiskImage 4 are labelled with checksums so that any manipulation of data, which might occur due to hardware defects or a virus, are recognised and notified.

download.cnet.com/O-a…tml has a couple of reviews. It sounds like the program works fine, but the support isn't great.

Thanks for this. Just discovered O&O's defrag tool. If this is up to that standard I'll be more than pleased!

When I got the license for this, it seems that you get a free copy of the program for creating backups, but to restore them, you need a £6 recovery tools program. A free write-only backup program isn't really free!

Oh well.
