Absolute nonsense! You don't even have one. I'm in the owners community on Facebook and do own one. I and pretty much any owner would completely disagree with you. Unfair putting people off with incorrect statements about stone, temps and what pizzas it's good for. Some people like roccbox, some koda, some gas, some pellets. They all make knockout pizzas. It's just preference. I really dislike gas but wouldn't go ambushing threads saying they're terrible.

38104797.jpgTip my hat to all the fellow part-time pizzaiolos here! No matter which brand/type, Ooni, Roccbox, brick built, wood fired or gas, our appreciation of this wonderful food has led us down the path to a purpose built oven in pursuit of quality pizza at home! We salute you 🖖🍕😁

Edit: as long as it's not a £30 BBQ topper, in which case do a little more research

I have one. It is great. What I would say is make sure it is in a sheltered corner of your garden. Wind really increases the cooking time. It also knocks out the flame. My garden is particular breezy.
Also, buy a blow torch. This is the fastest way to get the wood chips alight.

Yep. They’re great. Made pizza for 14 the other Sunday - kids & adults - and they cook v quickly. And taste great.

Yes, I’ve had an Uuni/Onni since they launched - they are amazing. You can cook pizza but so much more, steaks, fish, veg. you’ll need cast iron ware.

i recommend wood pellets from American bbq, comes as 2 big bags of pellets that will last for a long time. shop.americanbbq.co.uk/gmg…asp

the price is a steal!
Thank you for sharing your opinions, I have yet to find a negative review so I’ll definitely be picking one up
I'm hoping that I'll find a bargain priced Ooni Koda one day. (The one that runs on gas).

I'm jealous! I have 2 Ferrari mains powered ovens which work well, but the Koda gets hotter and is portable for camping. I'll keep waiting.......

I’ve seen these in action and they are great - and portable too which is a bonus. Voted hot at that price

I opted for one of these though in the end which is on a stand with wheels - but not something you can simply take camping! Had it 2-3 years now and use it fairly regularly. Was wanting a bigger dome oven but a) it wouldn’t fit down the side of the house and would’ve involved taking fences down or getting a crane in - and b) I have the DIY skills of Frank Spencer so couldn’t build my own .

Absolutely superb. Pizza in seconds. We used to spend time at parties stood at the barbie, now we just put out toppings and bases and let people help themselves. Much more fun (and a lot less work)

Not great insulation and a very thin stone. If you want to cook Neapolitan pizza in here you won’t get great results. The pellets are also much less reliable to get a constant heat than using gas.

Ooni pro is a better option.

If you’re buying this because you’re only vaguely into pizza or just want a bit of fun, it’ll probably do the job.

I disagree entirely! I did a lot of research prior to buying one of these and a number of people have found the 3 heats up more quickly, maintains a better temperature profile, and is easier to use than the pro. Plus it’s a lot cheaper.

Far from useless!

Oh and you can convert these to gas if you feel that way inclined.

Fair enough. My research led me to RB (which is an incredible bit of kit)
Only £149 at van hage garden centres although not sure how many in stock. Showing at chenies and Amwell centres if you live near there but needs to be collected as delivery isn’t available.

Did you see the koda deal that Costco were selling with a cover and peel for £180. May be worth seeing of that comes back into stock at some point.
I'm guessing this could also work well as a tandoor for chicken tikka tandoori chicken and naan bread.

We have no issues with ours. The trick for me is to top up the pellets little and often, every couple of minutes. There is a knack to it, but once you have the knack, these are excellent. To say they are useless is completely untrue, everyone who we've served pizza to has absolutely raved about the quality.

Ok I was probably a bit harsh. Hadn’t noticed the uuni 3 was different to the previous ones.

Still think that it’s worth saving for a roccbox if you are really into this.

No worries. Depends what you want it for. They all do equally good pizzas at up to 500°c. Yes the roccbox and pro are bigger and more premium and versatile. Cost over double though and not as portable. I just make pizzas for 2 to 4 people so the ooni 3 is Ideal. Easy to store. Can use wood, gas or pellets up to 450°c+ in 15 minutes. The stone is thick and good quality. I may well get the pro at some point but it won't be because it makes better pizzas. Roccbox are good! Especially for mass catering or large pizza parties

Interesting. I was a backer for Rocbox on indegogo and had it after I sold my first Unni. I found the wood burning a complete pain. Pellets are so much quicker in my opinion to get to a high temp. My unni 3 without fail gets to 900f within 15 minutes. My Rocbox could take twice as long, and not match the temp. Add to that it was nearly twice as expensive!

mind you, selling it I made my money back and some profit! So not all bad!

You can make pizzas just as efficiently on the Uuni 3 if you have the gas attachment (as long as you don't make them enormous).

Why not go for this and use it on your standard BBQ? It £40
