Open All Hours was a BBC sitcom written by Roy Clarke which ran for four series (26 episodes in all) between 1976 and 1985.

The series features a small grocer's shop in Balby, a suburb of Doncaster in South Yorkshire. The owner, Arkwright (Ronnie Barker), is a middle-aged miser with a stammer and a knack for being able to sell anything . His nephew Granville (David Jason) is the put-upon errand boy, whose attempts at a love-life or even just a meaningful social life fall flat. He blames his uncle, in particular that he has to be up early to open the shop and stay late to close it.

Bargain!

Thanks. you've just made me spend money again ha ha

Very cheap, I've voted hot but I'm a bit of a Barker fan so I held out and bought The Ultimate Ronnie Barker collection (Porridge, OAH, Going Straight, Clarence etc) off Amazon for £29! Which personally I think is a bargain itself.

amazon.co.uk/dp/…BSF

Although the patient bargain hunters amongbis may want to wait; Amazon had the set as low as £19.25 earlier this year according to CCC.

Still Open All Hours isn't the same without him!

One joke stretched across twenty six episodes.

Yet still funnier than the 'revival' version that is on TV now. Some shows should just stay in the past.

Love the originals, Loved last years Christmas special , but this years was awful sadly , painful to watch

They don't make sitcoms like they use to.

Bf delighted, now I dont have to watch all the repeats, hurray!

I'd love to get this, but the site won't let me log-in or checkout. When I click either of them, nothing happens. Tried on all browsers, disabled ad-blockers etc. Anyone else having the same problem?

Edit: Eventually ordered it with no problems on my tablet.

Wow! What a bargain! Great find!

I had a dream that some stupid TV exec had the nerve to reboot this show and urinate over the memory of it, with a crappy script and poorly thought out new characters,

But it must have just been a bad dream.

Hot for the price.

ordered, thanks op.

The original worked mainly because of Ronnie Barker. The remake is just embarrassing

Ronnie B is still alive! Open All Hours isn't quite up there with Porridge, but it has some great moments.
