I was in the co-op this morning and the woman was updating the prices on the alcohol.
At first she thought it was a mistake, but the 70cl bottle of Opihr gin is half price down to £11 from £22.

  • • Inspired by the Ancient Spice Route, Opihr is crafted using exotic hand-picked botanicals such as spicy Cubeb berries from Indonesia, Black Pepper from India and Coriander from Morocco.

  • • Bursts of citrus balance the rich, earthy aromas and soft spice of Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin.

  • • Opihr epitomises the exotic intensity of the Orient and awakens the senses to a new style of gin

  • • Opihr is traditionally distilled in copper pot stills at G&J Distillers, Warrington, the world's second largest gin distiller who have been distilling British Superior Quality London Dry Gin since 1761.

  • Awards: Opihr has won 7 international awards since 2013 including a Gold Medal at the San Francisco World Spirits Competition and the highest award of Master in The Gin Masters.

  • Serving Instructions: Best served with tonic and a garnish of orange, mixed with ginger ale or in a Red Snapper, a gin-based Bloody Mary.

"Northern" co-op. Stepps a suburb of Glasgow.
Wasn't store mark downs or anything.... the woman had the printed barcodes and was changing the alcohol prices. I just happened to be standing beside her as she was changing this one...... even she was surprised at the deal.
Not on offer in the two Sunderland stores I checked.
My co op is £23
Still £22+ in Okehampton, Devon
Op, how many did you buy?? Lol

Well it would, because you got at least one HUKD member on a wild goose chase ..... do you really expect us to believe you happened to look in the booze cupboard whilst buying a freedo frog ans noticing this, but not actually buying any ..... year right
Bought 2 of these over the last 2 weeks from my local, nice
19hrs and 535 degrees later/one store in all of Scotland...............gotta love the HUKD voting system.
At least we've manged to avoid that inevitable, sulky "they never have these deals up here in Scotland " post

Errrm it's not my deal.
I didn't get one.
Maybe you need to read things properly or phone people up first?
Just a thought.
Have a nice day. X
Mix with Aromatic Fever-Tree Tonic - orange peel and perhaps slice of ginger - yummy!
will likely be Scottish Co-op shops punting short coded (in the case of beers/ciders) or slow moving stock ahead of the Minimum Pricing Bill coming into legislation on 1st May.

I personally really like Opihr but it's pretty niche as gins go and will more likely be held in specialist shops or larger supermarkets rather than the Co-op who could end up with dusty bottles of this.

Also some "stoorie midori"
None left in my local co-op but was down to £10.70 a bottle. Guess I was too slow.

In The Metro today;
A £23 GIN named Opihr topped a Good Housekeeping Institute test. None of the top eight London dry gins was a supermarket own brand. Joint ninth were gins from M&S, Tesco and Asda with Aldi’s £9.99 Oliver Cromwell 13th.
My local has them for £10.77, with NUS discount it's £9.70! Definitely a good deal!
