    Here you go:

Long story short, in comparison with Z Flip, Oppo have equally good screen, better battery and better camera system. Charging is faster as well, crease is less pronounced. Quite impressive really (edited)

£850 for a plastic screen, no OIS on any camera, no telephoto camera, no IP68, only USB 2.0 and no wireless charging.

    Yeah... but it flips

    Great (edited)

Don't get the whole flip thing. How much space are you saving really (it's a phone!), for the price of having to flip the thing every time you want to use it.

I had the flip 4, hinge broke within 3 months after a fall, which a normal phone would have come away from without a scratch so please bear this in mind, these flip phones are not yet durable enough imo.

Somewhat of a fair point. Obv the components that go in are often Chinese from a Chinese company so little difference when you look at the supply chain.

Any decent build quality phones you can think of not significantly made or relying on Chinese parts?

I am product testing this phone. It's my first Android phone (only had iPhones so far). I really like it. Using it for a couple of days now.
    innocent's avatar
Does this mean you keep the phone at the end, if I understand product testing correctly. Just interested.

Do these fold up devices use a film screen covering  or glass? My last flip phone was a Motorola StarTAC in 1997! Obviously things have improved  (edited)
    fishmaster's avatar
It's a flexible plastic screen, can't use glass as glass can't flex.

Really like the design better then Samsung

Seems like a very well designed flip phone. Sadly in terms of camera the stabilization is just ok also the ultra wide angle only records 1080p

Interesting competition to the zflip4. A few things in its favour but z flip is available regularly for a decent bit lower than this. In the Samsung favour is proven consistent software updates and support. More consistent software experience and known quantity of warranty support. The snapdragon looks to be a decent bit more powerful than the mediatek in the oppo as well. Think it would be a tough sell but it definitely has its selling points. The front cover screen and camera system in particular.
    fishmaster's avatar
The front cover screen is a bit bare on features, will OPPO add more features? Hmm not sure OPPO and software updates aren't terrible but they're nowhere near as good as Samsung. I think ultimately software will be the Achilles' heel of this phone. Really good to see competition in this segment/form factor though.

Looks like a solid flip phone apart from the Oppo software..looks horrible and has a few niggles like the one plus phone
    fishmaster's avatar
It runs ColorOS 13 which isn't horrible, it's not as polished as Samsung UI 5.x but it's still a fine OS. I have listed some of the issues I have with ColorOS elsewhere on a comment on this deal.

Been using this for the past week and a half and it has completely changed my opinion on flip phones after having a negative experience with the Flip4!
