An arguably better alternative to the above is the Umidigi X for £12.50 less.
Amoled, 1278GB 4GB, the lead brand under screen fingerprint sensor, NFC Google Pay, Helio P60, 4150 mah battery, 18 watt charge(best to slow charge though)

The Oppo is less a risk buy.

Plus Stock Android 9.

1278gb for £146.49? Now that would really be a bargain

Umidigi is rubbish, I wouldn't recommend it. My favourite chinese reviewer had this to say about Ulefone (a similar poor chinese brand):

youtube.com/wat…Gwk

He isn't bothering to review the poorer chinese brands now as there is no point.

Like the youtube comments say "This brand doesn't even sell in china because it's so goddamn awful and meant for scamming developing countries" with a response of...

"Oh yeah, along with Doogee, Elephone, Cubot, Blackview, Umidigi, Oukitel, Leagoo."

Basically you get no updates ever, poor software, poor lens (camera sensor probably ok but lens are crap), probably no widevine level 1 for HD Netflix, Amazon etc

I'd just stick to more main stream brands such as this or Oppo, Xiaomi, etc.
It's missing the B20 (800 MHz) 4G band... If you live in rural areas of Europe, avoid this phone or just stay with 3G...
In the SD 660 range in comparison. Let's be frank, switch, this is quite poor for the price. A let down on your usual quality deals. I'd buy an A2 lite any day over this. There isn't even any AC on the wireless!

Jeez, I sound like Sam. Maybe you spoiled me over the last year or so.

This has the Snapdragon 710, with a 4045mAh battery, and fast VOOC charging, all for £160?!

Id say it was a bloody bargain.

It? Can you elaborate. They do low and now middle end, the middle now being the high end of a year or two ago.
Just read the reviews of the £85 middle end Umudugu A5 Pro on Amazon. You get a lot of kit for your cash. A main drawback is that it only accepts a 256GB SD card which can soon fill up if you record a lot of video in 1080p.

The X is their first venture up market. It helps that it looks like Apple have a glut of Amoled screens, maybe because Apple wanted to differentiate their more down market iPhone 11 from the Pro.

Is this the same Oppo that disappeared from Europe a few years back leaving behind absolutely no customer support (Inc me)

Sure, the first review I read online states it stays on 3g when 4g is available. Poor software. You'll be lucky to get any updates, they usually just release a new phone instead.

It might advertise 48mp, but again software is a massive help when processing photos. As are the actual lenses.

Also who changes the name of their phone company from umi to umidigi? Why?

It is well documented that Xiaomi make a very low profit margin on hardware, they also sell massively more than these small manufacturers...

AMOLED has been used on phones for a long time. It was around way before Apple starting using it and was rumoured to cost less than LCD panels some time ago... oled-info.com/ihs…lcd - of course UMIDIGI use a low res panel.

720p+ Oled is probably closer to the cost of 1080p+ IPS LCD. That resolution is ok for video on phones but has its limitations.
OLED though is one of a few features that differentiate from the cheap stuff like LCD.
But no, Samsung Amoled is only very recently available in bulk. Same for the In Screen High end fingerprint sensor.
The Samsung and Synaptics are rubbish compared to the Goodix one also used by Oneplus 7 pro. I am not sure but I think Apple supplier Synaptics are having a disastrous period and are abandoning this market. By the sound of it Goodix will become the unlock method of choice for most high end phones. The rest are really not worth bothering with so far.

I'd say you haven't seen a high end LCD if you are dismissing them that quickly!
