Key Features:

  • Unlocked & SIM Free
  • 4G Ready for ultra fast network speeds
  • Dual 48MP + 5MP rear camera & 16 Megapixel selfie camera
  • 6.4” FHD+ Display
  • Super fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 Octa Core Processor + 6GB of RAM
  • Android 9.0 Pie OS
  • 256GB Storage

All screen, always
No notches and no pinhole cameras to break up that beautiful display. The Reno’s selfie camera pops out of the top of the handset, so you can always browse and watch full screen. Genius.

Good night
Go from shooting in daylight to no light with no trial and error. The 48MP rear camera lets in floods of light without over-exposing your photo, to make that landscape skyline shot stand out. No matter when or where you shoot, expect jaw-dropping detail and balance.

Super-fast charging
Get browsing again in no time at all. When you’re running low on power, the Oppo Reno will go from 0 to 100% battery in just 70 minutes. Even if you’re binge-watching a box set while it charges, the phone stays cool as a cucumber and performance stays lightning fast.

Bundles of space
Never worry about deleting old apps. The Oppo Reno has 256GB storage space, offering plenty of room for games, apps, movies, photos and music – everything you need to keep entertained.

I have this phone, and it really is good. Don't think you'll find much better for this money.

Good camera?

Good, not ground breaking, but all you will need. Night shot function is as good as it was on my Huawei P20 pro. The best thing is the notchless screen, especially for YouTube and Netflix.
How's the software like what's the current software version?
This or the Xiaomi note 9 pro both the same price ?
Nice deal OP

I would like to know too.

processor is better on the note 9 (not a lot in it though) screen goes to the reno, design a matter of personal preference, battery note 9 wins, UI again preference, maybe better chance of software updates for longer on note as its newer. Both decent choices
Would this be much of an upgrade on my mi8?
Ah... I need a new phone, just dunno what to get for this price range. Using an S7 currently.

Still in Android 9, but is supposed to get Android 10 this month.
Received the April security patch update couple of days ago.

I got it for £260 from laptops direct 6 months ago, where it is now £299.97!

Yes, this has full access to all the Google apps.
Thanks. Do you know if Oppo phones are affected by the Huawei ban, and if they might not be able to receive future Google updates?
I might be missing something, but can someone point out to me where the selfie cam is. Thank you.

They're not at the moment. From my knowledge it is 9nly Huawei and Honor as their derivatives that are affected.
Hi guys, thanks for the info here. Anyone know if the battery here at 3750mAh is good enough these days? I'm wondering whether to buy a Samsung Galaxy S10 lite at around £400 or an Oppo Reno here at £229.

It's in that "shark fin" that pops up when you change to selfie mode in the camera app.

You can see it on the first picture at the top of the post.

This is 6.4 inch screen, Note 9 is 6.7inch - a deal breaker for me. I had the Samsung M30 at 6.4 inch, now on Note 9 and won't be going to smaller screen soooon :):)
This, the Realme 6 or Note 9 Pro? Wanting to upgrade my wife's Mi A2 Lite

Take a look at the photos above. You can see the front camera pops up as a wedge from the top. Advantage is no ingress on the display, downside is more one more mechanical thing to go wrong and a weak point if you drop your phone with the camera up. Some phones use the gyro to determine if the phone is being dropped and retract the camera accordingly. You have to hope they finish doing that before the phone hits the ground.

This phone has a sensor that retracts the camera when it detects it falling. It works as it happened once to me whilst on a video call...!
Can you do FaceTime on this phone? Even if it means downloading an app

Facetime is an iPhone feature and can only be used on apple devices. There are alternatives for android like hangouts and what's app ect which can be used both on apple devices as well as android / Windows devices. But if you need Facetime you need an iPhone or apple device.

This or Moto G8 Plus?

Moto can be bought for 159 from we ship and unlocked for free. Moto is perfectly fine in every department. If you can spare some cash and go for this one you get even snappier performance, lots more of storage (256GB Vs 64GB, though the storage can be expanded with micro sd card on Moto), dazzlind amoled screen and this fancy shark fin selfie Camera. Up to you if you want to pay some extra for these features.
Which is the better buy this or the redme 9 pro for the same price? Unsure which to go for.

Sending my wife's G8 plus back as it was slowing down on tasks as simple as typing a text message.

The reno does have a headphone jack. To be fair 256gb of storage so you won't need a memory card anytime soon. The 9 pro is only 64gb for the same money so yeah you more likely will need to add more storage. Oppo also has vooc charging faster charging and I think build quality is better on the oppo (family members have both phones). The 9 pro has a larger battery and life than the reno to ofset the slower charge. It also has a more rounded camera wide angle and other lenses and takes better video but I like the shots on the oppo reno better. All this is subjective.
