good for the ladies I'd guess, heat for the price

I really wanted to put "Why would they be good for ladies when they have nothing to do with the kitchen!" but I reckon you've already got this crowd on edge. Happy new years peeps x
walked into that one - sorry all

Why for the ladies? I've seen many women lifting more than this and more than men at the gym
I bought them for £23 six months ago. It does the job (keep the muscles moving)

Looks like you don't really have much clue regarding workouts

Sexist pig!

Just playing.. am sure you didnt think it completely through what you posted. These weights are great for more precise work on wrists back or shoulders and other little things. Or if you prefer lighter but longer workouts. These are a great edition

Honestly for £14.99 they're not bad, but you will soon want heavier weights. My advice.... Wait for the "new year, new me" folks selling some cast iron ones on gumtree, or your local papers for some decent weights.

Doubt that
I got a set of these 6 or so years back, and the 4.5kgs each split within a couple of weeks. As they’re all full of sand, this makes them leak on each rep, so I’d go for proper rubber/metal ones next time I get some.

Heat for the price though
These are great if you want to keep your body toned, but do keep in mind they're rather thin plastic enclosures filled with sand and don't take kindly to being dropped.. You'll be working hard keeping to leaks at bay.

Give over
As a woman I would happily use the 2kg and 4kg for certain exercises, if you are new to lifting weights it's important to understand that the weight values vary wildly depending on the exercise you are doing, and form and technique are far more important than picking up the heaviest thing you can lift. Ego lifting is the fastest way to give yourself a lifelong injury- just head over to any fitness forum to see just how many people have ruined backs/knees/shoulders from stupid mistakes they made when they were starting out.

This video demonstrates how 35x world bodybuilding champion Moji does lateral raises with just 4kgs, and he gives a nice explanation as to why lifting too heavy will impede your results. All his vids are excellent btw.

Note: I'm not sure I would 100% recommend the above dumbbells for a beginner due to them being both bulky and round (I have some round ones and they roll everywhere ). Argos also has various hex dumbells on sale, which I think would be nicer to use in the long run.

They sell a lighter set for your arms if you want the product code

No point because they would be too light for my little toes so they would be a waste of money just buying them for my arms
