Optoma HD141X full HD, 3D projector plus 92" screen and 5 year warranty from Costco online. £529.99 inc vat and delivery. Valid 22 Sep to 12 Oct, but looks like it is online now.
Cheapest elsewhere seems to be around £500 without the screen or 5 year warranty!

Also worth noting it comes with a free 5-year warranty

I wish I could afford this to replace my old one

Very good price. Voted hot

what's the usual price m8?

Prices are around £500 to £550, but that is without the 92" projector screen and the 5 year warranty

any reviews?

For £30 extra you get a 92" screen and a 5 year warranty, well worth the difference I think.

Safe to assume "warranty" means everything except the bulb, right?

Had a quick look. Hot. But how many pairs of 3D glasses does this come with. Was going to buy the optoma hd25e for same price without screem

I think all warranties are the same when it comes to bulbs.

It doesn't come with any glasses, perhaps you could sell the screen and buy some.

Any good technical articles to compare between these kind of projectors with led television?

So much temptation.

No.

Bulbs are the problem, otherwise I'd have one already!

Check the throw ratio. You'll need a pretty big room to fill that screen.

I haven't checked, but it'll be 4m I'd imagine.

I think it is between 3.06 and 3.67m

Don't forget richer sounds will price match & even beat by £10! I paid £519.99 for mine.

Unfortunately they don't sell stock online, but if you contact your local store they may have it in stock

Richer Sounds wouldn't price match when I purchased the hd131x, as it was a package and they only sold them separately. Worth a try though.

Well it worked for me, so deffo worth a try!

It is, but don't forget length of projextor, plus heat dissipation space (normally 30cm in manual, although unnecessary in reality), plus depth of screen and mount position. It'll be over 4m at that point.

I have this I have it 3.1 m from the screen. It's very good but the 3D will only work in 720p mode for me. In 1080p it ignores my glasses.

Where do i buy a screen

You get a 92" screen included in the price.

need a 200 inch screen. Also checked and compared 141x with HD26. HD26 is much better

Asked in the Leicester store today and they won't price match as it's a package that includes a screen. They also had neither this nor the GT1080 in store but could order them in.

I'm on the lookout for a new screen for use with JUST a PS4 but realised I could just pickup a projector instead of a fancy smart TV which I don't really need.

How easy is it to fit the 92" screen to the wall? How low down to the ground can you put the projector to get a perfect fit on the screen? I'd be using it for films + PS4 games, I'd want to be able to lay in bed or play games without the projector in the way. How is the quality compared to an actual screen?

Cheers!

It's not hard but you'll likely need two people as it is heavy. Especially if you are mounting to the ceiling

Shouldn't be a problem. It offers keystone correction so you can adjust the screen to ensure it's square on the screen. My projector is only a couple of feet off the floor.

How is the quality compared to an actual screen?
Depends on what you want really. One problem projectors can have is that they are heavily influenced by any light sources, though the HD141X isn't actually that bad on this front. The picture will be fine though, and it will give you a massive picture for a fraction of the cost of a TV.

One other thing to note is that a projector will be noisier than a TV, as it has fans to keep it cool.

Thanks for your answers, will help me pick something this week

Just a note, RicherSounds have just pricematched and beaten the price by £10 :-)
It's worth ringing your local store and seeing if they can do some sort of deal.

Am not a member, so believe you pay a 5% premium, theprpjectors come with 5 year warranties, but do these warranties only last as long as you are a member?

It is definitely store specific. I tried with the HD131 and the Solihull branch wouldn't budge as it was a bundle deal and they only sell the, separately.

Probably worth a call to Costco to ask

too late, figured I would give it a try, as expires today and their call centre was not open till tomorrow...

Can we do the ceiling mount this projector?
Did anyone do that?

Original Poster

I have just swapped from hd131 to hd141 and ceiling mounted both. No problems with either, but I have had a problem with the edges of the screen curling inwards.
