Connect to your ps4 or Xbox by using optical cable instead.
A 3.5 mm aux cable I believe would be the only option if you want to directly connect.

Thanks curious how people usually use this projector for 5.1 surround if the only output is 3.5mm aux

I connect my projector to a Denon AV amp, then separate speakers connect to the Amp to give surround sound. Gives a great experience, you then have the option to plug other devices to the AV amp for sound as well, such as DVD player, PlayStation Xbox etc. Can also connect devices via Bluetooth some amazon music from phone or Alexa for instance.

To add, the projector connects to the Amp via HDMI.

Perfect, so with this logic hdmi to the z906 should do the job? The optima doesn't list a hdmi as output though? Sorry I'm not great with this stuff

This now makes sense. So the z906 would take the audio from the ps4 and I could just mute the projector?

I use my laptop to watch stuff. To get sound, I bought an external 5.1 sound card (£10 on eBay) and this is connected to the speakers.

The projects acts as a device to project an image to a wall/screen, the HDMI on the projector is input only and you need to connect a source to it to project the image. So if you have a Sky box for example you could connect the Sky box to the projector and watch sky on a big screen, or a PlayStation, a computer, DVD player etc. In these instances you would leave the Logitech connected to Sky, DVD player etc and the sound would play as it does today.

The question is, what do you use the Logitech for today and how do you intend to use the projector, this would help in understanding how to connect it all up

Ideally tv, firestick and console. My worry is if I connect to the TV directly the display may have to be on, although this would be convenient as everything goes through the TV already

In this case as long as your TV has video out support, then simply run a cable from the “video out” on tv to the “video in” on the projector and you will simply project the TV screen to the projector. Probably need to go to TV setting and enable output, this should blank the tv screen and yes you would need to have the tv on.

Thank you everyone for all your support in this thread. I couldn't have sorted it without you all.
It shows £434.34 on Amazon..

Was it with a voucher.
I have this projector and it's probably my best ever gadget buy. I simply connect via 3.5mm to a decent sound bar and boom, great quality films, sports etc. Heat added

Sure does. I got cheap 3d glasses off eBay and it's brill!! Incidentally as this has quite a minimum throw distance, you can use a mirror against the opposite wall and reverse the image. Works an absolute treat!!
I love Amazon as much as the next bargain hunter & I don’t know how much Richer Sounds would sell this for but I would always recommend buying electronics such as these from them. You can’t beat a no nonsense 5-6 year guarantee. I used their guarantee service recently and am both pleased and relieved that I purchased my projector from them.

On another note, I recently discovered that Amazon cover their electronics for 2 years, not the single year that I originally thought. That’s pretty good but obviously not as safe as a 5-6 year guarantee from Richer Sounds.

I agree, I bought a Benq projector a few years ago and it's by far the best thing I have ever got. Ok it's not 4K but at over a 100 inch screen it's fantastic. Just have a Google about the throw distances there is a website that will calculate them for you to check out fits the room. You can also get manual pull down screens for under a hundred quid if you haven't got a flat white wall to project on.

I got great service from richer sounds when my first benq projector broke after 5 years of use... They gave me the full amount I paid back as they couldn't repair it. I upgraded to the one I have now and it's covered for another 6 years... Crazy!

I guess they win more than they lose & it’s this kind of service that keeps the customers coming back.
