Was in Boots yesterday (Freshney Place Grimsby) & saw they had reduced the Oral B Hummingbird flossing tool from £4.99 to just £1.25 the same price as a decent tub of dental floss.

Couldn't find any refills so may be discontinued, bought a few at this price, as i found I actually use it more than snapping dental floss

manual flossing all the way, using a mechanincal item always makes people think they are doing a better job and is not the case (am a dental student). however is a good deal i have to say so heat given!

Hi asl9791!

I've seen people comment on here before that the top end electric toothbrushes (rotating and oscillating ones) are as good as and maybe marginally better than manual brushing, while the average electric toothbrush isn't as good as manual brushing. Is this true or is manual brushing always better? Sorry, just couldn't resist the opportunity to ask someone who might actually know.

I have one of these and I have to say I found it a waste of time, couldn't get on with it at all....not easy to manoeuvre around the mouth. Good price if you can get on with it.

lol, its all down to technique really. If you brush properly manually then u will be fine. The point is some people think that using an electric appliance will therefore just do the work for them but you still need to take care and do it properly electric or not. I was just speaking about the flossers as i prefer manual! Brushing is not such a difference but all down to technique!

Thanks asl9791!

ive been trying to convince my mrs its down to technique for ages!!!!

i have one of these and found it uselss to be honest, but great price tho

I like mine, as my dentist recommended using interdental brushes, however i couldn't find any thin enough to fit through my bunched up teeth. This works ideal though, the mint in the sticks is quiete nice too.

I`ve had one of these a while, and really like it. If anyone knows where to get the refills please post cos I can`t find any .
