Oral-B Pro 2 2500 (Li-ion battery) toothbrush + travel case down from £80 to £30 at ASDA.

I've posted a few good deals on Oral-B toothbrushes recently (eg Pro 600 for £20, RRP £50, at Tesco ) but some people criticise them for having old technology Ni-Mh batteries which last for around seven days per charge.

Well, here you are then! Asda have the latest Li-ion brushes in a pack with a travel case, down from £80 RRP (ha, ha!) to £30 (reasonable). Showing on line in black, stock in my local ASDA in pink. Claimed 2 weeks use per charge.

I'm not going to run out and change my Pro 600 brushes but when it comes time to replace them I'll be pleased to have Li-ion batteries.

Glad I stocked up when Superdrug and Tesco Direct were selling the 1000, 2000 and 3000 models for around £11 each a few years ago.

As you can see in the post, the poster does laugh at the original price.

The RRP was £79.99, So if most of them are £35-£40. Then £30 makes this a deal, it may not be a big deal, but a deal is what the sites about.

Also available on Amazon for £30 amazon.co.uk/dp/…1_1

I find the charge time of the 2500N to be about the same as the previous Oral-B that I had.

No, it's the run time: 2 weeks vs 1 week as stated in post.

Thanks! Shelf edge label in ASDA claims reduced from £80 to £30 ('Roll back'). They were next to the old 600 series still showing at £50 (also showing in link). Like so many other supermarket products these days you have to pick the right time to buy these things!

I looked in my local Asda just now, same rollback, same model number but only 7 day battery life. This could turn out to be a 'dead duck' like the one I posted recently. Only Termite seems to come across these lower priced ones regularly with Li-ion batteries but he doesn't care to share with the rest of the community!

I dont think this has the li-ion battery. According to expert reviews it has a Ni-MH

States Li-ion on the packaging - as well as a 2 week charge life. That's why I posted it! However, I think the ones in store were called 'Pro 2', unlike the one in the link. Maybe that's the difference?

And because it is only just "a deal" I have used my vote, it's what this site is about!

You don't appear to have posted any deals for over 4 years yet have the 'loudmouth' badge - hmmm.

So a £4 - £10 saving on £40 Is not a saving? Thats a 10% + saving. Thats a Deal in my books, a Deal is a saving, it doesn't have to be free or saving you £1000. So yes, thats what a deal site is about.

Or should we all snipe each other, and not post deals anymore?

I found one of these, with the 2 week, Li-Ion battery, on shelf in my local Asda this evening. £30 as per the post. I just wanted to pass my thanks on OP, much appreciated.

I bought one July 2015 and the battery life is just starting to get annoying so does this new version have a much longer battery life?

Yes - double and should maintain that much longer. Just make sure it's the Li-ion version (says 2 week charge on the box).

Thanks. Having the travelling case is very handy also I find and you can store a spare head in there; not human of course!

Just bought one of these today (13 Nov) in black for £30 at ASDA Shirley, Solihull and there were a few more on the shelf. The deal is still out there! Definitely Li-ion.
