Every credit to Termite for this one see hotukdeals.com/dea…199

Unlike the above deal which is admittedly cheaper this should have a 12 day Lithium Battery (if current stock) with no memory effect i.e. 5 days better battery life than previous NiMh versions!

Sound Connectivity explained, bit of a gimmick but explained here:

Also in other colours for slightly more but would recommend taking from box and checking for lithium ion symbol on the base of the brush

This is a biggy as many of the complaints on Amazon re. Oral B brushes with NiMh batteries are about battery life (in use) and battery longevity overall.

Oral B Pro 600 Pink Special Edition

3D movement cleaning system oscillates, rotates, and pulsates - mimics the shape of professional cleaning tools.

- The perfect angle: CrossAction removes up to 100% more plaque vs a regular manual toothbrush.

- Timer indicates dentist-recommended brushing time of two minutes - with 30 second intervals.

- Included in pack: Rechargeable toothbrush handle, Charging station, 1 brush head: 1 CrossAction

Should be according to Termite on previous deal this should have the superior Lithium battery
might be a bit of a toothbrush promotion going on, i was in wilkinsons earlier and on display was a colgate cr350, 4 on the rack at £10.00 each. as with all of these promotions it may be store specific but if you are in there and looking for a suitable christmas gift this may be an option.

NUS (everyone on HUKD) get 20% off in store
nice one, saw this on superdrug earlier but I couldn't really tell the difference between 600 and 650. May as well cancel my Amazon order now
can somebody confirm where it states the battery tech used in the 600 and 650 please?
Oral B are upgrading all their brushes to Li-Ion batteries.

You may well end up with the old NiMH battery.

Termite got his/hers from Superdrug and got Lithium ion, see link to post at top.

I don't think this sound activation business has been out on the cheaper brushes very long so I'm confident enough to order based on that and also these 2 links.

Oral B are very good at 'hiding' battery technology as you'll read in my recent posts but Superdrug have a large stock turnover and would allow return to store if there was no evidence the toothbrush had been used.

Otherwise I'll let you know in about 3 days as my order is in!

My Pro 600 had a sticker on the box that said 'Now with li-ion battery, 2 weeks between charges', or something like that.
taa folks. I'll keep my amazon order and order this one too
yeah but if you use it every day its not gonna make much difference is ? as i thought the difference was holding the charge longer if not used ?
I've been waiting for the longer battery life ones to come out. I hope I can find this in store!

Are you mixing up Lithium Ion with Eneloop/Accu NiMh batteries? Nickel Metal Hydride batteries are pretty fussy re. charging mid charge. They suffer memory effect if you don't completely discharge then fully recharge.

Lithium ion batteries are quite happy to be boost charged in fact they perform better if you don't try to fully discharge or fully charge, which is much more convenient IMO.

Looks like the overall capacity is improved too if you read the links I've posted, just over 40% by my reckoning.

Yeah but full price in store.

Why would they be full price in store?
If you're looking to purchase in-store some are scanning at £24.99. Some stores are aware the price should be either £22.49 (or in my case £22.48) but wise to phone ahead as some will say the online and in-store prices do sometimes vary.

On a separate note Home Bargains has the Pro 650 model in pink for £19.99.
So just to be clear.... the 600 is newer than the 650 and may have a better battery (subject to a sticker), but the 600 will probably work with the app via sound connectivity, because, well all of their brushes sound the same anyway?

Great work Oral-B. Bravo.

No. 600 and 650 are just different pack variants of the same model (650 includes toothpaste).

No. I have the 650 in black and I bought the misses 600 in pink. Huge difference in battery performance. Not only does it last longer but rotates the brush head more consistently. You can feel the difference on your teeth!

I couldn't make sense of why there was a difference until the last couple of posts on hukd brought it to light.

Just checked in store and it's a 7 day battery so don't bother ordering. Also £24 in stores.

Just been to the one on Queensway: £24.98 and 7 day (older) battery
lucas18 h, 38 m ago

Why would they be full price in store?

No, superdrug offers are should be concurrent online and in store. If by your logic the shops should always be full price they'd shut down pretty quickly as everyone would buy online only, especially as it's free delivery no matter how little the cost of the item with a beauty card.

Yeah I think they're just getting rid of the old battery stock so the deal poster probably just got lucky with the new 12 day battery. So disappointing!
£19.99 in argos
Just picked my order up from Superdrug, opened it to check and it hasn’t got a lithium battery. I hope they accept it back for a refund

Is there anything on the box to indicate which battery it has?

Nothing on the box, that’s why I had to open it. The box looks the same as the one pictured above.
Superdrug in Guildford had a few of the 600 range at £24.98 which looks more like a clearance price than an offer.

I inpsected the boxes in Boots and they mentioned a "7 day life" - I assume the lithium models would claim a longer life? There were two slightly different styles though - one had "0% cadmium/0% mercury" etc on the bottom, another didn't, but also nothing about lithium - somebody mentioned the newer ones have a sticker?

No, if it says "7 day battery" on the box then it is the old model. If it claims 12 days, then it is the new model.
Apart from @termite has anyone actually received a lion version?
I bought the Pro 2 2000 a few weeks back since I wanted the Li-on Battery and it specifically states on the box that its a Li-on battery. I would have thought the new 600 would do the same. By the way the Pro 2 2000 is available in stores at Boots for £39.99 and that has the Pressure Sensor.
