The rush of clearance reductions on the older (Ni-Mh battery) Oral B toothbrushes seems to have subsided now but rarely got cheaper than this anyway. If you missed out you might want to try Savers: the Redditch store had a pile of them last week reduced to £19.99 (previously reduced to £24.99). The 650 is the kit with the 600 brush plus a tube of Oral B toothpaste. They were available in black or pink. Still £24.99 in B&M last time I looked.

The only real difference between these and the much more expensive Li-ion ones is that a charge will last a week vs two weeks for the newer ones*.

The 600 is the simplest model your dentist and and hygienist would recommend - it has 3D action, which is important. The Vitality model is 2D only so it's not nearly as good.

*Top tip: buy two and keep one on charge while the other is in use. That way you never have to wait for one to charge (whichever battery it has) and it's still cheaper than a Li-ion one. You'll get two brush heads and two tubes of toothpaste too!

I just had to have a tooth implant and I'm still in shock - £2600!!!! I'm following the dentist's recommendations very closely now and it makes these brushes seem cheap!

or buy from Amazon and have it delivered today ....

Isn't that only if you pay for Prime and live in certain areas (eg London)?

Given a choice at the same price I think I'd rather buy from a company which helps keep the high street alive and pays its proper taxes. Amazon is a very impressive business but I despise their tax ethics and the serious damage they are doing to other (UK) businesses.

How do you know this outfit pays proper taxes? Are you their accountant?

Possibly not (HK based) but I'm certain about Amazon. Like I said: very impressive business, but the damage they are doing is becoming apparent. So, what's the deal on the same day delivery then?

So you do pay for Prime and you live in a selected area (London)?
Excellent price and excellent product. My partner and I both have them - I bought them not that long ago for rather higher price...
This is the model I would choose again - there are fancier ones with more 'modes' but I only use it in teeth-cleaning mode (!).
It has a useful timer that vibrates when you've done enough brushing and a little red light comes on about once a week to indicate time to charge it up ( assuming you don't keep it on the charger stand anyway) which it does overnight.

Spot on! My hygienist told me not to buy the ones lower in the range as they're not 3D but also not to waste my money on 'features' higher up the range which are unnecessary. The 600 model is the sweet spot in the range.

Ah, OK. Forget what they call that service but looks like it's rolled out to Manchester too then. I wonder whether they really would deliver it on Easter Sunday (the only day in the year that most shops aren't allowed to trade).
