Typical, bought on of these from Currys at the weekend for £37:x

Might buy one for the wife for christmas as shes only got a battery model. Either way it's worth a hot vote as its a pretty vicious toothbrush:w00t:

Incidentally ( ) the tongue cleaner and tooth pick things seem to be a pretty useless addition.

link is borken

Yep ! link not working

argos.co.uk/sta…htm

Seem to have quite a few offers on toothbrushes too.

cheers - but cant check stock - Argos Website is wonky...

Wait till later, Argos site seems ****** as per usual lol. There was a rumour that Ebay were so impressed at the rate Argos website goes down they were considering investing:giggle:

Thanks. Good old Argos :?

Tbh you may as well have the 8500 unless you need the LCD charge indicator. The 8500 has the advantage of having the special 'polishing' brush included in the pack, useful if you like your tea/coffee/fags etc:thumbsup: (assuming said brush works...)

Any toothbrush experts know how it compares with this one which I was considering going for? ]http//ww…NOB

I asked my dentist that last week as I was all set to buy one and he recommended the OB as the heads on the Sonicare are a bit big so less able to get into the tight spaces. Fair enough the dentist gets free handouts from Braun but it does make sense:thumbsup:

Just picked one up from argos at lunch, sorted.

Likewise, cheers for the heads up.

Here is a hot deal, buy a £2 toothbrush place a whitening toothpaste on it like janina then proceed to brush the teeth for a few minutes then rinse the mouth out with water and do the same again. Keep the brush clean with citricil or something weekly and floss with one of those pluckers things.

I wouldn't call that hot tbh. 100ml Janina around £20 on its own:?

By the way, this makes interesting reading... ]CLICK.

I actually use Macleans Whitening (with the odd blast of Eucryl), so that combined with the 8500 would seem to be a better solution:thinking:

I've had this toothbrush for a few months, I think it's excellent and would certainly recommend it at his price

Couldn't decide whether to get this or the Philips Sonicare HX7351/02 Elite, but went for this instead because of the lower price.

Thanks OP - voted hot & repped (only my 3rd order taken off HUKD!).

Just a quickie, Sainsburys have the brush heads for these (and most other OB brushes) at 1/3 off. Not particularly good news if you only want the EB-17 heads but they've also included the big double action heads and the polishing heads in the offer. Think its works out about £6.50-70ish for a twin pack

I can vouch for that. Made my mouth ache :w00t: (all battered and bruised) :giggle:

I was just thinking of getting the one on offer from Amazon posted a couple of days ago - the Oral-B Professional Care 7000 for £19.99.
Is this one much better? - I'm having difficulty comparing them!

Are the floss action brush heads any good (compared to the normal EB-17 ones)?

Actually their both the same. The advantage of the 8500 is 14 day charge (7 day for the 7000) and the storage in the charger for brush heads.

Don't know as i've not tried that one yet. Have to get some from Sainsbury and see at some point. Info on the different heads is available ]HERE!

I'm annoyed now - I paid £25 for the 7000 from Amazon last month :-(

The quoted charge times are misleading as you will find that after about 20 mins of usage (over a few days), the brush is not rotating at full power which really defeats it's purpose. Ideally it should be kept on the charger base after a couple of days use and completely discharged every 6 months.

Hi, what type of plug does this have i was thinking of getting this but i havent got a shaving point in my house can you buy a plug adapter for it??

Not noticed that tbh. But then as it is a vicious beast I dare say most people would hold the power button in to slow it down anyway.

Thanks im definatly getting one im just not sure either the oral b 7000 or this one... which is better?

I would pick the braun 7000 apart from having to charge it more and not being able to use the different head attachments.
The normal brushing would be the same.So the question is does the above bother you. Thanks mike:thumbsup:

Go for the 7000 and you can use all brush attachments as you would in the 8500.

the 8500 you get 2x heads and interdental cleaner?? and the 7000 only comes with one head are the extras worth the extra £10?

There is no difference between 8500 and 7000 apart from the charge times. Both can use the same head attachments.
