Orange sim only deal. £9.49 PCM, 1000 minutes calls, unlimited texts and 1.25gb of data..

Left my contract yesterday and had a phone call from their retentions team today. Went through quite a few of their current deals and he said this new one is being released soon and he has it authorised to put me on it..

in comparison to the talk talk offer posted the other day which i think worked out to about £60 per year (sub £30 if you use cash back) its not that great.
Not to mention Oranges terrible customer service. I have been with them for over 10 year and will be leaving when my contract expires

It was my understanding you have already had to be a talk talk customer to get that!!

I'm with virgin, whom use the t-mobile/orange network.
Got a one month rolling PAYG (no one year contract rubbish), for £6.50 get 1200 minutes plus free Virgin to Virgin calls, unlimited texts and 1 GB internet.

That's a deal and a half, how did u get that? I just got one on a 30 day rolling contract and it's 250 mins, unl txt, 1gb data and that was £10 per month and I'm already with virgin for my broadband!

Yep, I have Virgin TV/Broadband package as well, but for some reason that has nothing to do with the mobile phone deals, I'd like one where I don't have the landline, and just the mobile.

I got it by telling them at the end of the contract that I was leaving them to go to Giffgaff, they made an offer I refused and we ended the call, a day or two later, I get another call and so on until they offered me this and I accepted. In all honesty they know by my usage that I never use that much, but it's good to know it's there.

REMEMBER that text messages cost companies about 0.000000000001 pence a text, nothing in the grand scheme of things. Calls do use more data, but also cost loads less than you think, as does data for the internet. A company would rather keep your business making only £1 per month than give it someone else, plus they also have the opportunity to make a bit more if you go abroad (say once/twice a year) on international charges.

You would think! A very common sense approach.

T-mobile customer for 2 years (and several years in the past), had 3 phones (me, my wife & my mum) on an account that I was paying £80 per month to them (I was getting cashback from the retailers), never missed a payment, etc. - they offered me nothing. All they would offer was walk up sim only offers (which I could get cashback on if I left/came back) & wouldn't even match other network offers (i.e. their £8.99 12m deal had the same allowances as a £7 1m talkmobile deal & they wouldn't even match that or budge in any way). One contract's 30 day notice given, second contract's PAC received & third will be cancelled once minimum term up. T-mobile no longer have a retention policy if my experiences are anything to go by.

BTW 1m rolling is not PAYG. Also Virgin very much tie mobile & media contracts - they will 'pop' you on the nearest publically available mobile contract if you cancel your media services according to their site.

All of them are great if u are attached to their home internet services.. But if your not your left to what else is on offer so hardly the same!

I'm with Tesco on an annual contract 500mins 5000 texts and 2GB Data for £10 monthly.
Thought I had a good deal 'til my cousin negotiated better with Virgin...unlimited x3 £5 monthly! oO

I've got 1200 mins . Unlimited texts and unlimited data ( capped at 3.5 GB) for £ 8 on a thirty day rolling contract with Virgin .

I got 10,000,000 minutes, unlimited data and unlimited text from Gifgaf and they pay me £10 per month ;-) oh I also get a free car wash weekly and a tank of petrol.
