decent price but terrible supplier. will withhold voting

Thats a very good price given the 8mb speed and the fact that the BT line rental of £11 or so is also included.

Ive heard some horror stories about Orange Broadband....would feel a little unsure signing up for 18 months if the service or support isnt there.

I've been with Orange since 1997 through Freeserve/Wannadoo/Orange and to be honest I haven't had any problem! I tried switching around a few years back used Tiscali, pretty poor, Sky, the absolute worst ever (took 3 months to actually provide any broadband and then it was so unreliable I refused to pay anymore and we agreed to part) and BT, fine but expensive.
Went back to Orange as they did a great deal for a returning customer. Now I'm paying £9.99 a month but first 6 months are free on a 12 month contract. They will always do a deal when you're contract is up for renewal Do your homework on prices and start to haggle, in fact do this with any ISP, all will do a deal when politely pushed!

unfortunately you also have to take out an 18 month or 24 month mobile contract

Didnt see that anywhere. Looked at the terms and conditions. Am I missing something?

I'm with them for broadband and mobile phone. I think that you dont look at how many issues youve had its how there dealt with. I havent had a lot of issues, but when I have they've been resolved quickly. I have been with Tiscali (SHOCKINGLY BAD) and an independent as i didnt want a contract (fine till i wanted to leave).
I myself have the max at £19.99 BUT with the first 6 months FOC. Seems pretty good to me.
I threatened to leave, had no intention of doing so.... but you have to play the game.;-)

You need to get a new 18 month mobile contract or prolong your old one by 18 months... Still if you intend on doing that anyway...

Hi, any chance you can point me to where it says this please?

This is Home Max and on thw website it is under the heading Broadband and Home Packages. I cant find a mention of the need to take out a mobile contract anywhere...

Thanks. I can see the image you have linked to but that image is not displayed anywhere as part of the deal posted here. Where in relation to this deal does it say a mobile contract is required to get it? Think I must need glasses or something.

Orange works fine for me.

BUT NOTE THERE IS A 40GB LIMIT. Fair use policy.

They do enforce it by turning your speed down to 0.5

Keith

It has been well documented about isp'sfailing to deliver advertised speed, the Homemax deal with Orange seemed to be a good idea for me they informed me that I would not get 8mb but would receive around 4-6mb,fair enough.

I was previously with wanadoo then to orange, I think the livebox is an excellent bit of kit.

I upgraded to the homemax package, however after the 10 day broadband settling period I tested the speed and low and behold it was averaging around 1.4mb, after phoning every continent I eventually spoke to a escalation supervisor who informed me that if I cancelled despite the fact my broadband was now slower I would have to pay £420 to buy out my contract.
I am fortunate to be able to pursue my complaint through solicitors but it is grief I could do without.

Test your current speed before changing to anyone.

Found it!!! Yes its definate.....I do need glasses!

be careful with orange. I went over my usage 2 months in a row and they kicked me off the service. Only went over by a bit. At least they didn't ask for any money and I was free to go somewhere else. Thank god

They put it where u cant find it,,, right in front of you!!!, lol

been with orange with 5 years now. never think abt chaging provider as it is too much time wasted but did think abt it last year as i never get offers but when i said i want to cancel they gave me a offer i could not refuse just wished i did that every year. i am a computer engineer and yes i do admit there support is **** whn my phone line went down but if you never have a problem then worth geting but i guess alll provider would be **** on support as it like coming from india or place like that so same as other providers

I have tried Wanadoo, Tiscali, Talktalk broadband in that order and I do admit that the support for all these companies are wanting. So I think its down to the deal itself.

Do you still have to pay BT for line rental?
