Can it be unlocked like the San Francisco?

Not yet, but it's only been available since last Friday !
anyone lelse got it for the same price?
Price is getting better. No front facing camera and knowing that they are going to release the same phone with a better processor puts me off, though. Skype video has been release for android and works really well.

Anyone buying one should ask orange about their "phone fund". Orange give you £1 for every £10 you spend (or at least they did last year). I was able to get a San Francisco for £63 last year using that.

my phone fund was only £14 and they would only let me use phone fund without this deal.
i knew a faster phone will be out in a few months but wanted the better camera and a flash and a bigger screen so opted for it.
i know it wont be everyones cup of tea but it should be a good little phone that has plenty of mods for it soon

This must be the biggest phone on sale today. There is no way I am going to carry that round with me.

Well when you compare it to it's size rival the Desire HD at 123 x 68 x 11.8 mm and 164g its certainly slimmer and lighter than the HTC phone.

As for the deal as soon as we get a unlock method I'll try and get one at this price but cant see Orange classing me as a customer as never even put the old Orange sim in my OSF, but will have to see.

Could you not start using the Orange SIM card on and off to start to build up a history of phone usage?
When the is 1GHz processor version coming out?

Not bad, good budget alternative to Sensation and SG ll.

But needs urgent root. Can you imagine the Orange bloatware !

It's being worked on over at the Modaco Forum from what I understand.
Got San Francisco this time a year ago, was okay - but sluggish operation and poor camera puts me off. Eventually dropped it one too many times - now use the S2.

Recently bought iPad 2 3G though - and haven't been using S2 as much, might sell off S2 for one of this...
Is this gonna be 3 times slower than Galaxy S2 (2x1.2Ghz)?

Or is Android smart enough not to make much difference?

ZTE are developing a phone based on a 1GHz Qualcomm ARMv7 instructions set module featuring Adreno 205 GPU and a 4.3" screen.

If this will be a direct replacement for the Skate we do not know and don't know if it will be a Orange exclusive in the UK. As for when its available who knows but a ZTE representative stated availability will be 'the holiday season', and by that I take it as just before xmas. But as the Skate is 2 months late who knows.
Ugh, they skimped on the CPU again? While I love my SF, the CPU really lacks any 'Oomph'.
At only 200Mhz more, this isn't much better (although when rooted you'll be able to OC it, I have my SF running at 720Mhz as opposed to the 600Mhz stock speed).

I'll wait for the next one.
Thanks just ordered one for my self and got the £30 off too and the £10 credit included. Very good as I phoned a store and they wouldn't do any discount for me. Ive been looking at new mobiles for a while and this one looked quite good and has had good reviews.
Does this processor support flash videos?
There are always better stuff around the corner. Though most quick refresh don't materialise in reasonable time, if at all. Like the nfc version of S2.

This deal is time sensitive - mainly because despite great value - Monte Carlo is very hot handset, for right now; before the big names announce next gen product in Q1 2012. By then you might as well skip the 1Ghz version, instead drool all over Galaxy S3.

Furthermore this type of product is a profitable one - look at SF, it would be foolish for big names not to release products for this segment. When they do, the advantage ZTE has would quickly vanish.
Hmm should I go for this or the LG optimus 7 This is £30 cheaper now but I really want a phone which will last at least 2 years so is the optimus a better option?
Wish they wouldn't write the name of the phone in an ugly font right on the front.

It looks seriously naff!
Just ordered one had to ring twice first guy was stroppy wouldn't let me have it with discount because my payg orange sim had never had any credit on it he said it had to have at least £10 a month for 5 months on it lol.Second guy was fine never even mentioned it.
will you be able to get the discount with a pay monthly account with them?

Neither will be in any way up to date in two year time. Though if the modding community of the SF is anything to go by, you'll be better off with the Skate/MC, whatever you want to call it.

No, it doesn't unfortunately. It's a very old and slow processor compared to what we're used to in phones nowadays. With root you might be able to OC it to around 1ghz.

From what I know, the processor they will be replacing will be the MSM8250 as seen in Desire and with crappy Adreno 200 graphics. Where did you here that they are gonna get arm7 MSM8255's?
You never know, I could be wrong.
This looks like a good deal. The original £149 + £10 topup is a bit steep for the specs but £40 off suddenly makes this an attractive deal.

yh but I'm thinking the Lg will get some updates after I get it and I dont really care much about how up to date stuff is I just really need a upgrade from my Lg cookie
does this deal apply to existing pay monthly customers?
Pretty hot, but I've come to realise with smart phones that battery is very important to me, so i'll be sticking with my samsung galaxy apollo, amazing battery.

No only payg for some strange reason at least thats what i was told.
Good find mate. Hot
thats a shame, got an iPad on pay monthly with orange and was looking out for this phone
Why did they stop using OLED screens? Makes me a sad panda. One of the best perks of the ZTE Blade (Orange SF).

yes but judging by your picture the camera is not very good.
As much as I would like a play, I think I'll pass on this one.

Last year, SF was £100, while the original Desire was still £300 on ebay.
Now we're looking at £150 for the MC, but the Desire HD can be bought for £200ish.

The San Francisco is still the best value for money phone ever released in my opinion.
