I thought they were free on Orange website? Might be wrong though.

They were free on the affordable mobiles website with £5 free, not sure if they are still doing it though.

EDIT: Offer still on affordablemobiles.co.uk/fre…rd/
hence voting this cold.

So, how do you use this...do you just put the new sim card in your phone and bob's your uncle or do you have to get a new number and register all over again with Orange??

...I'm rubbish with mobile phones!!

Pop new sim in phone and you'll get a text with a code. Use this code to activate the free credit on some website. Instructions come with sim card, pretty easy though. No need to register your details.

Don't rely on it. Didn't work on one SIM used - even after spending nearly that amount on their support line (not free). Also you do pay £3 for £5 credit. Its cheaper to get a free SIM without credit from Asda or Tesco as you will probably get more calls for £3 at 8p/min then at Orange's extortionate rates. Avoid!

Loads of people ordered from the freebie thread activated the card fine using the website and had no probs. Got 3 sims myself.

These are great for 2 4 1 cinema tickets, the only reason I use it. No good for anything else.

there is vouchers in The sun nearly every day , for free sim card with £5 of airtime on there

As an Orange customer I can verify that there's no point getting one of these except for the Orange Wednesdays!...and only then if you can find a bloomin bar of signal! Never experienced such shockingly poor coverage...what mobile phone network would be happy with huge dead spots on the M1, M62 & A55? Only this bunch of cowboys! Not worth signing up with them til October 2010 when the T-Mobile mast network is intergrated.
