@ Argos

Deal worth £119.99 - Get £60 top-up and Samsung Genio Touch

I have been looking around for a suitable mobile for my 10 year old and came across this, I would much prefer a different network but £10 a month is ample credit for my son, and perhaps the phone could be unlocked after the 6 months?

You can get it unlocked anytime after you purchase it. But you cannot use it on 3 network as this phone does not support 3G. (_;)

The san francisco is the better phone, a big minus I would say for a 12 year old is that the back cover is a flimsy plastic and I don't think it would take a fall to the floor without becoming damaged, I suppose that could be said about many a phone tho....

COLD!
its £39.95 delivered from Dial a Phone
dialaphone.co.uk/pay…_P3
and it comes unlocked + £6.50 fromQuidco!!!!

One thing you really need to consider (aside from some very fragile parts on the San Fran - IE: the power button which is known to give issues after a very short period - not ideal in the hands of a 12yr old) is you could be highlighting your young Son to potential thieves.

The San Fran looks cool but WILL attract much more attention from the wrong sort (these guys know what they are looking for and won't go for just anyone with a phone on show), and mugging for phones is country wide, not just in deprived areas. If the victim is lucky they will simply grab the phone, if not they will also give a beating and ask for personal details like name and address (unfortunately more common) just to put the person off going to the Police.

Some will say this is OTT and that I'm being a scaremonger, but the fact is this kind of crime is on the increase. If your Son were 15 or above then I'd say go for the San Fran as at this age they should have improved 'life skills' IE: better at making on the spot decisions, at just 12yrs old (no presumptions of your Son, just generalising) it's totally different.

suppose if he took it to school it could be tempting for the theives, argos have the samsung pixon is that any good?

That's right give him your pink Cookie and he'll be alot safer.

I'm sure there's some decent cases to take care of the fragility.

haha thats a good idea, well now I have to choose samsung pixon on o2 or sanfran.........................
