While looking for my daughters birthday present today in the Botley Road, Oxford branch of Toysrus I noticed a natty gadget which I've been looking at buying for over a year now. Its basically an "action" type of video camera. It uses an SD card or limited internal memory to record 640 x 480 VGA 30 frames a second video. Waterproof to 3 metres. Complete with mounts for helmets, bikes and other sports related equipment. When I originally looked these were £99. The sticker on the box indicated it was £49.99 but this was then crossed out and £24.95 indicated as the NOW price. I had one of the last 3 instore.

Good price....but apparently seriously let down by the sound quality..

So voted hot for price but would probably not buy because of sound issues

Just done a demo. Ill do a proper one later and post up. Video is very good. On par with Nokia N96 and slightly less than LG Viewty. Audio is fine. Seems like it filtered to stop wind as you have to be infront of it to be heard but for a bike/car/surfing camera it seems a good deal. Its not as bad as those cheap as chip video cameras.

Great find.

Only had one left in stock in Croydon Purley Way store (so I bought it - £24.99) but they also had two on display one open but complete (so I bought it - reduced to £14.90) and another just the camera (so I bought it - reduced to £4.99) - 3 for £45ish - bargain!

Hove haven't got any :-(

Glasgow Govan doesn't have any either

Interested if you could post a link

Cheers

Just got one for £15 - minus cables.

Video is pretty poor - as expected.

Really needs a wide angle lens - like the upgrade to this one has.

Cant really recommend...

I might try and get one of these, they would be great for the mountain bike.

good luck this post is over a month old

Whilst this is totally OT, and no where near as portable as this suicide cam, check out the Logitech Pro 9000 webcam videos on youtube.
When I decide my netbook is not fit for anything else (i.e. Im happy to land on it), then I'll use that solution with a camelback for anazing HD trail video.

Most television mics are hyper cardioid rather than omni directional so as to have more control. Bad sound quality is to be expected. Looks pretty decent for the money and any budding young film-makers

and lots of others in the related video section on the left, people seem to be sticking them on everything including rockets!

they;re poor ... they really are bad from my experience.

But for £24.99 it's worth it I guess. Video is often scrambled by any slight vibration

Whilst I have made some videos, they arent really putting the thing through its pases so Ill add below some videos of people using it. After a few weeks of playing it really is a good piece of kit. Very easy to fix to the oddest things (mega kite!) but it comes into its own on the bike. For £25 its a steal. Ive emailed a few friends around the country about this and some have even grabbed it for £10 (shop display). Enjoy for those lucky few who have got one!

Mine was from said store but I wouldnt drive down there now. A day after mine they sold the "last" one for £9.99 but then the following week had they instock again. Traffic VS Camera - no question really? Either that or the 420 to swindon!

Good deal, I bought my friend one of these for xmas, and I paid £99.97 from Argos. He uses his for climbing.

I have one of these and I wouldnt bother really. Not for any sort of motion activity anyway. I bought mine for snowboarding and it was pretty much useless. Might be better for biking but cant say i would think so.

Hot price if you can find though and really want one.

Be carefull, the 2K is only splashproof. The more expensive 3K is waterproof to 3mts and much better but the sound still aint up to much.

I bought the ex display from Newcraighall, edinburgh for £19.90

I've been today to Brighton store. They didn't have any and store manager told me that last time he saw this camera in stock about a year ago
