I thought I'd add this deal as it's on Xbox store for £2.01 more.
Bought this yesterday without realising there's a Definitive Edition on the Xbox Store.

Not sure how different the two are but it may be worth paying a few quid extra for the Definitive Edition

I wouldn't worry about it too much, the Definitive Edition doesn't add a huge amount of new content. A few new small areas, some different difficulty levels (both harder and easier) and the ability to fast travel.

I actually found the definitive edition changes to be massively impactful. I used the dash constantly, fast travel between wells is basically essential if you want to get all the secrets and maintain your sanity, and the new area/story segment about Naru was really nice extra world building that I wouldn't want others to miss.

For the sake of a couple of quid the DE does tempt me.

If you purchase the Definitive Edition, you get this version as well.

I think it comes down to if you are a completionist or not. For a couple of quid though you might as well get the DE. I wouldn't buy it if you already own the base game however.

Well it's not like they're separate games. I think of the DE as the base game but patched and with a season pass included. For a couple of extra quid it's definitely worth it.

I saw somewhere that if you own the base game digitally, you can upgrade for £3.99. Probably not worth it if you've already played the game, unless you really want to replay it or as you say you're a completionist, but it's definitely the version to get if you've never played it.

They are treated as separate games and have separate achievement lists.
