I've been eye balling Orient watches for a while and came across the Orient Star range recently..

Decided to take the plunge on this one. I've never ordered from here before but the trustpilot reviews are good and I could use PayPal, which gives some additional piece of mind.

The watch itself I think is cracker for the price. I would have preferred the blue dial model but I suppose beggars can't be choosers.

Please note this is the previous gen model. The main difference being it has a 40 hour reserve vs the newer model's 50. It's really difficult to find Orient Star in the UK so I believe these may be imported hence the international warranty. That being said I feel the risk is quite minimal as you are only gambling a 1 year warranty anyway.

I'm not 100% sure. They import from Singapore from what I read. In check out you can select from 3 delivery options. Please see attached photo. I opted for royal mail (£6.19 charge) as I thought it was the least likely to incur an additional customs charge. Apparently the company has a Manchester office so maybe they reroute via there?

I’m not sure either mate. I’ve seen people talk about being charged import and equally seen people say they haven’t. I hope you don’t get charged and you enjoy your new watch
Worse case scenario. £48.60 plus Royal mail fee..
Give us feedback on the shipping when it arrives please.

Sure, will do
Love the style, lume makes it very tempting combo but the face is too reflective for me, check some vids to be sure.

One of the testimonials mentions 'getting stung with 20% VAT from Singapore' so it looks like you'll get charged this plus the delivery fee Royal Mail ALWAYS charge! Very annoying when suppliers don't have some way round this

With Creation the following is the norm.

1. Free DHL = VAT & Fees.
2. Free Air Mail = VAT & Fees often apply.
3. Royal Mail = VAT & Fees usually do not apply.

From what I have seen, often cheaper £100 or lower watches ship from UK (Ireland) and the lower the value the more often them ship via RM without VAT & Fees.

The No1 issue with Creation is if you have an issue, CS is at best reportedly poor, albeit by that I mean once safely received.
This is a nice watch. Orient star have some very interesting models and make hardy watches. I travel for work to Japan frequently and go to Bic camera and browse the watches. They are truly interesting and not all arrive in the western world. Japan market watches have sometimes more interesting designs/features. Enjoy it.
I brought two watches from this company a few years ago and never had a problem, the items were tracked every step of the way and I was not asked for duty. Times can change but just stating my experience.
To add a data point: sent via free DHL, was charged VAT & fees.
