Botanicals from the ancient spice routeDiscover the exotic intensity of the ancient spice route. Cubebs from Indonesia, Black Pepper from India & Coriander from Morocco, hand-picked to create a unique spiced gin.The Ancient Spice RouteDiscover the exotic flavours of the ancient spice routeThe heritage of Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin is firmly rooted in the ancient Spice Route. Traditionally merchants would travel thousands of miles along the route, trading exotic spices and botanicals from distant lands.Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin is crafted with a selection of exotic hand-picked botanicals, carefully chosen by Opihr's Master Distiller, including spicy cubeb berries from Indonesia, black pepper from India and coriander from Morocco. The botanicals in Opihr Gin make the journey to their final destination, the oldest distillery in England, where quality gin has been traditionally distilled, using the same London Dry Gin method, since 1761. Here the botanicals are married with fine English spirit to produce an exotic Oriental spiced gin.Opihr Oriental Spiced Gin has bursts of citrus balanced with rich, earthy aromas and soft spice.Opihr epitomises the exotic intensity of the Orient, awakening the senses to a new style of gin.

Opihr pronounced {o-peer}Opihr is a legendary region famed for its wealth and riches which prospered during the reign of King Solomon. The King regularly received cargoes of gold, silver and spices from Opihr and whilst its exact location remains a mystery, it is thought to have been in the Orient along the ancient Spice Route.

Usual price in co-op is £10 and you get student discount on top. Love this gin though.

No it isn't. The best I have managed is around £16-17 on a lightning deal.
This is rank. It seems to be frequently discounted in the supermarkets I shop at, probably because it is DISGUSTANG
Some of the nicest gin I've tasted
Definitely a required taste. I didn’t like the bottle we had but the Mrs did.

Not that keen on it then ?
I'm a keen gin drinker and love something unique, but this is truly horrible. It's like drinking a damn curry.

Lots of people say pair it with ginger ale to mute the cardamon a bit, but I think if you have to start toning down the taste of the main spirit, it's doing something wrong.

A good price though if you like it

Rubbish.
Lidl gin is nice. £9. Why pay more?!
Nice gin this, has a spicy edge so may not be to everyone’s taste

I prefer it to Bombay Sappire and suchlike.

Heat from me

As opposed to an acquired taste?

Nope and I'd advise people to steer clear, unless for some reason they actually like spiced gin. I used to sell wine for a living and tried hard not to be a snob - gotta let the lambrini lovers love lambrini - but this is not for the casual gin drinker. Not sure who it's for at all.
I hated this and gave it away. It was like drinking an Indian curry.
