Nice price, but any ideas how it compares to the original?
Seen a couple of YouTube videos and it looks fairly similar in places (4K graphics or whatever on really small units might not be a good thing?). Not sure if sticking with the C&C collection for £5.99 or whatever it costs is the better option as I'm fond of RA2 to be honest.
after failing to deliver the code and took them 5 days to even reply. I'm avoiding this. Shame because CDkeys have been my go to for about 8 years

edit. still voted hot for the price.

Looks good to me.

If you love the c&c series then you will not be disappointed with this! Being able to switch the graphics to the old and remastered just by hitting the space bar brings with it nostalgia and new lease of life at the same time!

The online is incredible to!

Worth every penny in my eyes!
One of the videos I watched had the game detecting soundcards etc. Can't remember the last time I had to select "soundblaster pro" or whatever
Ffs bought this like a day ago for £16.99 from them.

Where it’s still showing as £16.99
Wish it was steam
Cracking remake. They have done such a good job. Definitely worth a buy
I came across the ps1 version the other day when having a clear out. Haven’t got a ps1 though

Can confirm. Those who played the originals back in the day are in for a treat. Heat from me

Sent me right back to childhood. It's worth £20 alone for the soundtrack
Dropping nicely, £10 beckons

ra2 will always be better than this, but it is a decent remaster, mental omega mod is worth a look at if you like ra2, new single player missions, co op missions, faction, units etc

what is the best price for steam?
Definitely a great remaster, the game itself looks really good, only negative I'd say would be the cut scene videos look a bit rubbish still, but I believe they didn't have the original recordings to work with so had to use some AI or something to try and upscale it.
Good at this price, but Steam would be nicer
Prefer to pay the extra few quid and get it on steam.

RRP I'd guess, Steam is so popular they have no reason to discount so near launch, always going to go cheaper on the less popular platform first IME....
Great shot! Return to base immediately!
I have a bad feeling that the nostalgia factor will wear off after 1 hour, and then I will never pick this game up again.
Oh gosh don't pay over a fiver for this... i played it at launch and its buggy and barely improved. Horrible graphical upgrade often looks like a first year graphics design student was put to task on it.

I wont sit and slate every detail but I was a huge fan back when the original came out... This is a shameless cash grab.

Shameless cash grab? In what way? Have you watched any of the development videos on it? Was clearly a passion project for quite a few of these guys. Some of the original Westwood people involved in it too.

Graphics look great. You know the idea wasn't a remake but a remaster?
100% steam version all the way, steam workshops has bought me so much joy.

It's an opening cutscene, purely for nostalgia I assume. It doesn't actually "detect" anything

From what I've seen on reddit posts from the devs over the development, they have been very active with the community and the new Digital Foundry video was a good overview in my opinion.

That's a great watch. The shameless money grab comment has annoyed me. This is the rate case where that's not the case at all and the developers who put the effort into this deserve credit. Want to encourage this kind of work
This is a great deal but just remember the Steam version has Workshop support, which means a _lot_ more maps and modding possibilities with that version (and super easy to install).

If you're ONLY interested in the single player campaigns, this is a fantastic deal but if you're slightly interested in anything else, get the steam version.
Bought the steam version on release day - its very good!, zoom with the mousewheel!!!
New graphics are awesome, but authentic - as you see when toggling them
Sadly the videos are just AI-upscaled from the original 320 x 200 ones - as the original recordings were lost.
The upscalings are definately an improvement on the originals, and its done a good job with the character videos - less so on the ones where its purely a CGI rendered clip of a harvester moving or something, but I guess you can't ask for more given the source!

Enjoying it so far anyway
Been playing it here too. Had a couple of games online and got whipped at each one.

Can't wait for Red Alert 2. Even the theme tune for that was brilliant
How would I go about playing this on a Mac?

Bootcamp? Or If you have a windows PC on the same network to install it on Steam Remote Play works.
Loved these games, but since experiencing games like TA and SupCom (heavily modded mind) I cant see I could ever go back to something so small and basic. I know they updated a few things like build queues, but such a simple interface, and more specifically such insanely tiny maps would surely frustrate anyone used to hours long battles across massive maps. I’m hoping some mods will come out at least to give maps many multiple times larger. Then it may be worth being back into the LAN gameplay list.

Pretty different games I worked out after going back and forth. Hey what you mean though. TA for me was absolutely incredible. Those massive battles were awesome.

C&C though has a great campaign and more intimate.
