normal price for this model 3/32, if it had been 4/64 I would have snapped it.
I wouldnt be buying this phone now. The Redmi 5 (released - £110 below) and Note 5 (just announced) are a lot better and similar price

Any good deals on the polystyrene cups and string phone?

Probably better than my Sony Xperia m2.

This is absolute nonsense! I have this phone, bought it in Hong Kong from the Xiaomi store. Had no issues and used it for the past 10 months. I was originally concerned when i purchased it but have had no issues with any style hacking into any of my accounts or any "porno ads"

I'm in India at the mo and the shops get stock on the 22nd, but I fly on the 23rd so the warranty would be pointless the Note 5 3gb model is the equivalent of £110 and the Note 5 Pro is £155. Not sure what the prices will be shipped to the UK from gearbest etc but that's the rate here

If you are buying one from India just be aware there is no band 20 support specs here mobile.mi.com/in/…te5 and the same for the note 5 pro mobile.mi.com/in/…pro If you want the 3gb/32gb note 5 you will be better off buying the redmi 5 plus its basically the same phone just been rebadged for India to note 5 and there is a global version of the redmi 5 plus with band 20 support
I'm getting 13 hours heavy usage screen on time with 1.5+ days standby time on the redmi note 4 it's a battery beast. Amazing phone
Great price for those who don't want the longer length of the new models.
P.s. don't forget Topcashback...

Agreed. Plus it's very much tried and tested. I think there are 5/6 of these phones currently being used by members of my immediate family, some having been bought when they were launched and not one iota of a problem so far. It's still a great phone at this price.

So, can you recommend a good phone that doesn't come from Asia? I can't think of any.

My phone must be faulty? I have to search to find my porn.... Is there a setting or something I can enable to make it easier to access. Its hard using a phone this size even with the fingerprint unlock one handed.

Yeah, I know what you mean, it's far too difficult to search on this phone for porn one-handed while driving down the motorway, especially after a few beers..

I have to agree . It is a gamble to buy Chinese phones not meant for sale in UK. I had the same experience buying Leeco and Doogee phones very highly rated on this website. I guess Xiaomi is better brand but it will still have apps you can not trust , cannot delete and don't need .

Porn is nothing . It is the Keyloggers which steal all your personal details. Someone I know had their bank login stolen . The bank gave the money back but that person would not touch these phones again .

Did they buy from a seller like this or from someone dodgy that then disappeared off UK ebay?
Provided you buy a sealed box phone, you will not find keyloggers or any other nonsense like that. In fact, I've never heard of this sort of practice with Xiaomi.

@sam_of_london weren't you pushing phones recently with malware built into the dialler?!

What evidence do you have that it was the phone's fault? How do you know your friend did not just get hacked or cause the issue him/herself by poor online Security? Seems a bit unfair to lay the blame at the manufacturers door without hard proof. I know many people with this phone, myself included and I have 4 banking apps, not one of us has ever had an issue.

That's a new one Sam but of course you can't use your usual no band 20 because it does

Dont feed the troll, ive had my RN4 for months, No problem. Leagoo and Doogee are blatant and xiaomi are not thats the crucial point.
I will be very interested when they add NFC
So I've had 2 of these for family now, and both have very weak proximity sensors that don't reliably lock the screen on calls.

The senors only work from about 5mm. On my redmi 4x and RN3, it's about 5cm!

Anyone else with a RN4 have this issue?

Do you have a protective screen on it? That's what causes issues apparently

I had a similar problem a couple of years ago, which was caused by a glass screen protector that wasn't installed straight. Removal and reinstall sorted it. Could yours be the same problem?

Nope, no screen protectors. The 2nd one I got is only about 2 weeks old.

I've tested all of them using the hardware test menu too. They "pass" but don't work well.

I've solved my mum's with a windowed smart cover so she doesn't touch the screen with her face on calls.

Plenty of people on the forums with the same issue. But wanted to hear from others on here with the RN4. Seems rediculous for a phone that's sold in such quantity this has.

If the screen cracked where could you buy a replacement? Is this brand popular enough for local shops to stock replacements?

You can get replacement parts from China but at this price probably cheaper to buy another phone local shop by me wanted £165 to replace a samsung s6 screen
