Before taking the plunge on these original Netgear battery cameras (as opposed to Arlo Pro, Pro 2 and the soon to be released Ultra), take a good look at the discussions on many previous posts for these cameras - they have cropped up on offer many times in the past.
The arlo pro is out and also there is a lot going on with thieves hacking into the cameras to watch you at home so when you leave they come in look it up be careful when buying wireless technology
This is a good price for the original Arlo but if you can afford it I think the newer Arlo Pro is well worth the extra money. I almost bought a used Arlo but a friend pointed out the horrible delays between motion detection and recording which made it pretty pointless for my needs. The new Pro version reduces the delay significantly and has other upgrades too.

i'd love to read about this if you could link me please? Is it that people sit close range and hack your wifi password and then deeper in your network to see the Arlo video traffic? or do they hack people's Arlo cloud or what
I would expect the Arlo range to be more secure than other generic IP cams

Usually the streaming port is left open and / or does not require a login which allows hackers to view what you are doing.

I think its usually on port 554 / 555 or at worst 8080
