I love this version. Had it for years. In many ways better than the original soundtrack. Heat added.

I wouldnt class this as a 'Soundtrack'. Its just a bunch of tracks that have not much to do with the film, but a marketing person has decided people who liked the film mite also like. How many of them were actualy in the film at all?

Also, I am sure when I saw this at the cinema they used Sing by Blur when he sinks into the carpet after shooting up. But when I have seen it on DVD it has been another track (I forget what but not Blur). Am I just going mad or can anyone else remember this?

8 out of 15 tracks are used in the film in part or entirety, many of the others are mentioned in the book  i.e. Golden Years

I stand corrected, rep added. Personally though I would only class an original score as a true soundtrack, it’s a bit lazy to just use other peoples music in a film.

I tracked down this album when the film came out, purely on the strength of the Ice MC track (used when Renton was trying to go straight as an estate agent I believe?). Turned out the rest of the album was actually better!

This is a good album, and for a few pence short of £3 its well worth it. As for the 'is it a soundtrack', I've seen weaker links used to promote music. I remember a U2 song being advertised as being on a batman film, when in actual fact it was only in the second half of the closing credits when most people have gone home!

On the original cover I have for it, it says that these tracks were highly considered in the mixes, but didn't make it to the film. Some of these did, but in various re-mix states.
