Worth noting that cycling is now included in the watch settings.
And whilst for GPS they now only claim 30 hours, for so called regular use, they do claim 7 days battery.

Yes it does.

Very tempted, but the recent price drops for this and the xiaomi mi band 2, makes me feel like something else new from the group is just around the corner...

This may seem like a stupid question but will this track your running distance and speed without having to take your phone with you?

Seems like a good buy, but ask yourself if you want a GPS watch or a smartwatch.

Good review here: androidauthority.com/ama…45/

Anyone know if you can load workouts into these that will alert you when you are running too fast/slow and when the next step of a workout is about to start?

yes it will. also it has some spare free memory (bit more than 3GB) so you can pair your BlueTooth headphones with it.
worth noting it's splash proof but you can't swim with it. overall great watch for fraction of price what Sunnto has to offer. not as good obviously but still very good

Used to think they were a dodgy Chinese company but the MiBand 2 has proved me wrong.

Really like it. Their refund/exchange policy seems pretty decent aswell.

I've had mine over a month now and think its great.

Best thing for me is I can leave my mobile in the locker and use the blue tooth music player built in to the watch while in the gym, or on a run. You have about 2GB worth of on board memory to load up.

30 hrs use if you have the GPS and HR monitor running constantly, but that's not normal use. I get around five days.

Also, use it to wake me up in the morning now, saves waking others up with a noisy alarm.

I thought this looked great until I saw the size - dial is 4.5 cm x 4.5 x 1.2cm which seems pretty huge, but I guess so is the suunto?

They are a top brand, so good in fact that the western media prefer to keep quiet about their discount products.

seems a good price but man is it ugly lol. I'll stick with m mii band for now

Will this take a SIM card?

no it does not take sim card

Good deal.

The usual numpty complaints about a 'dodgy' Chinese company (that happens to be one of the most respected Chinese brands) show there is still a lot of ignorance of Xiaomi about, despite the millions of gadgets they sell over here...

Words seem right but I'm 2 weeks in trying to resolve an issue with a remote controlled boat who's rudder only goes left, grandson wouldn't be impressed. Sent numerous videos and simply get requested to provide longer and more detail. Strangely the videos are as long as messenger will accept and longer than their usual duration, according to them, but still not good enough and they continue to request more duration.

I am under the impression that they are just stringing this out until I give up.

If anyone is interested, it turns out that the Amazfit uses a Sony chipset, likely a worlds first using 28nm FD-SOI, thus making the power sapping GPS in this watch frustratingly awful for power consumption. Seems to me that all our power sapping GPS units are now rendered semi-obsolete/3rd world by this.

Got mine when I got back from holidays a couple of days ago. I'm really impressed by it. It works well, especially for running (although it took a little time for the GPS to sync), it syncs up well with Strava. The strap is really comfy and it feels pretty solid.
