Sounds like the SOC is a dodgy ripoff, "Snapdargon". I would suggest going for one with Sexynos, Mediawhattheheck, or even better the Kiddin 990

Do we know if this supports UK 5g bands, I haven't checked tbh
Sam would've had a field day with this one.

Even Chinese version this is spanking hot. Miui 11 looks a much needed improvement too over 10. Let's hope they move closer and closer and even give option to go stock.

Edit: RIP Sam. Another time, another deal maybe?

5G SA / NSA / Sub6 / mmWave; N41/N78/N79

41 and 78 are uk bands yeah?
Is this basically a 5G version of the Mi9T Pro? The specs look the same

5G version of the mi 9. Slightly Better processor

5G version of the mi 9.

Thanks. The Mi 9 is more expensive than the Mi 9T Pro. I'm getting confused with all the different versions. Tempted by one of these. I was going to get the Pixel 4 XL but can't bring myself to spend that much.
What's their UI like? I love vanilla Android and absolutely hated Huawei. Is this somewhere in the middle?
Does anyone have a list of 5g band being used in the UK

Its as heavy as emui in all honesty, nowhere near stock.

I'll cut to the chase here as I have been known to waffle.

Miui is NOTHING like vanilla android. Don't even think about it. Best to wait for OnePlus 7T unveiling and release in the next few weeks. Miui is closer to Huawei than they are vanilla android.

Pixel 4XL is over priced and it's not even out yet. Don't even think they'll be a 5G version. The question isn't to reserve judgment at this point and hold until device is unveiled and reviewed. The question is, is Google even trying at this point? Or are they back to making over priced reference devices for developers

Leaks of specs, photos of the phone and new UI. The cheek of some leakers to take videos at length with the phone. MONTHS before releasing. It got so bad, Google themselves tried to beat the leakers at their own game.

I'm still using the Pixel 2 XL. The 3 XL wasn't any worthwhile improvements I didn't think and in fact the battery was smaller which put me off. This is the only phone I've kept for a full 2 years and even now it's fine so don't need to change just fancy something though. I'm not keen on all the bloat on these phones. I know they try and differentiate themselves but the price of these phones is enough to that on its own
The Mi 9 Pro also has a bigger battery (4,000mAh) compared to the Mi 9 (3,300mAh)

Yeah I'm right there with you pal. Hence I abandoned Samsuck after they turned their backs on their fans with the Note 10 unveiling.

I like a nice clean phone. Most if not all apps on there are there because I want them not because of what some company wants.

The prices of these are so huge it's obscene. Like I'm already paying 1k for your phone why should I have to put up with apps I don't want, need or use?

Due to saturation in the marketplace, phones need something else other than price and features to separate themselves
And to add balance...Miui 10 is perfectly nice - i like it and dont quite get all the hate (though I understand the pre v9 were not so good)...a few nice features too like clone apps and second space

Never in a month of Sundays would I consider dropping nearly £500 on an item from China.

I bet u already have... How about that iPhone or any apple products u own or even your fancy flat screen TV or that fancy American style fridge. Have u checked who provides the components?
very good price for 5G. bleeding edge.

rubbish American phones still behind Chinese tech. you won't be getting that on Apple or Google for a while.

Unlocking and custom ROMs is always an option. Using a custom rom on my Mi 9T and its running well but it had its kinks. Just don't expect similar battery life to miui.

Would need it for the 5G modem. Sd's modems are far behind Huawei's right now. Expect similar battery life to the 3300mAh varient because of this.

That's not quite what I mean.
It wasn't a xenophobic comment or a naive comment about a product's origin of manufacture... It was a comment about financial / investment plus peace of mind and aftercare (or lack thereof).
Is this 5G though? As that's the future didn't you know

What's the fascination with stock Android, does it matter? I've got a mi mix 3, admittedly can't stand the default launcher, easily fixed with the Poco launcher.

I'm considering this phone as three 5g arrives shortly. Do we have a UK release set for this phone?
