This band is already in sale from some months ago. In fact I have got it for $35 or something.
Looks good, will bag one of those later when the discount starts if any left ...
Good deal, would have been less than £20 if we haven't voted for brexit, rather fewer deals now.
Poor product. I had one (bought from Banggood in China for £27 and received 8 days later in the UK, Royal Mail signed for) and sold it on eBay after trying it.

Issues:
* plastic band is difficult to close and open
* device has to be removed from band to be charged
* no continuous heart rate monitoring. Only works when pressing a button, and then takes a long time or does not work
* App is poor and has bugs (like lots of data is recorded against the wrong time)
* Does not recognize wrist motion to display time, most of the time
* Application notification shows the same icon for all, making it useless
* Trusted device on my Samsung S4 does not work to unlock the screen

Pros:
* Nice clear screen
* Great battery life
* Good build quality

I bought a Fitbit Charge HR instead, which is much better, but also more expensive (£85 at Boots).

For people just looking for a basic step counter, then the Mi Band 2 is good value for money, and has a nice and clear screen. If you need a heart monitoring device or proper fitness device, the Mi Band 2 is just no good.

Thanks for the review tomtomato. It has very good reviews generally which is why I'm interested. I just need something basic and shower-proof. If I don't like it I can sell on and not lose I suspect.

ive got to be honest here and add my tuppence....

I also got the same device from the same banggood deal.

I disagree with almost all of your negative points:
it is not difficult to get on or off.. I've got shrek fingers and I can do it. do you have arthritis, I can imagine it being difficult perhaps then? (not a nasty comment BTW).

the app icon is different for WhatsApp, Facebook, and hotmail (the threee services that I have connected by app)

I can't believe you said that being removed from the band to be charged is a negative! come on, let's not be uber lazy about this, next thing you'll be slating it for no smart android charger port....

my heart rate monitor does work. why would you want it continuous? it would wreck the battery, which lets not forget is a massive plus to the inconvenience of having to remove the unit from the wrist strap!

I've heard some people struggle with the app. I can't say I have... but I don't need to use it very often. it's all set up so you don't have to use the app really, unless I'm missing something?

not sure what the wrist motion to display time comment is about. I tend to lightly tap the finger button on the screen?

I'm absolutely sold on it... it's great.. going to order some replacement coloured bands off eBay too. it really is a good bit of kit. :-)
Just ordered! Gone for it with the jade strap & screen protector for £25. 80. Band alone is £23.09

Tomtomato is correct, continuous HR is a good feature to have for training in different zones. This is a good price but not what I'm looking for
there are other apps that allow continuous HR monitoring from what I can see online. Ordered one. Had the first gen until I drowned it and was impressed, so looking forward to it

Yes but not displayed on the band which is where I'd want to see it while running/cycling

Eventually worked but keeps changing from 29.99 to 42 just be persistent as stock is falling quick.
The sale page doesn't seem to be keeping up with availability so it'll sometimes present colour combinations which are unavailable at the sale price. Once I got it to load properly I was able to choose a style that was on sale. Not many left now though.
2,500 gone in first hour, get in quick!
I had to go with additional strap as the basic offer was gone. But it only added a couple of pounds to the price.

Anyone know if import duty is added? I have factored this in, and consider it a risk worth taking.
For the price, any negative points raised are ignored. I'm not a keep-fit junkie, and the predecessor was good enough for my needs.

Edit: Found this on Ali Express site. Not exactly legal or ethical, but it answers the question. I will take a screenshot to show that it is not my request but their standard practise:

"3.Our price does not include taxes.To ensure you do not need to pay the tax or pay minimum tax,we will declare
as gift or sample with lower value."

It can be a real pain depending on your email address; it would not accept my email addresses but I eventually got it to accept a .btconnect.com one.
Can't be bothered wasting my time with such a crap website. Good price if you got it.

It seems the deal has ended "Unfortunately the sale for this item has now ended. You can still purchase it at the original price."
That was quick. Missed it too.

It links to your phone for GPS.
I'll wait for the next version of this device which should include GPS and continous heart rate monitor like the big boys for the same price.

Unless this is just a pedometer and will guess distance from steps.
I have one of these bands, also from the Banggood deal. I absolutely love it, so much so that now I had to order one for my partner too, who wanted one after seeing how good mine was.

I've had mine a fortnight and the battery is still on 76%. I don't use mine for app alerts, I just want it for measuring steps, HR, distance etc. It's perfect for what I need it for and mine was £27 and well worth every penny.

I don't have a problem with the strap, it's a slightly better design compared to the original Mi Band, and the fact that the "pebble" can only be removed from the inside of the strap (unless you really force it) means it isn't likely to fly off by accident somewhere.

Yes, the FitBits and Garmins are probably better, but for the price, in my opinion, it's a fabulous bit of kit.

I hope this helps someone

There's an app (for £1.59) that make this band work like a charm:
play.google.com/sto…ols

Also, the Fitbit battery is rubbish, the band itself is huge! It's ******* expensive too.
