I'm getting sooooo tempted with this! Why not? You open out front door and it's odds on a Xiaomi product falls out of it at the moment so why not?

Apparently this uses the same brushless motor as the Roomba 980, which costs over 800 quid!

Will it work with google home by any chance, i wish to command a fleet of cleaning robots in planning for the robot uprising.

Certainly your door by the look of it lol.
Nearly every post and comment you make is about Xiaomi products or Gearbest.
If the products good and the price is right it will sell no matter how much self promotion.

Well done! When I read your post I had you down as one of those moaning minnies with nil deals posted but I see you've actually averaged 2 deals per year since joining. A bargain is a bargain no matter what it is, or where it comes from. My area of 'expertise' is the Chinese market in general and Xiaomi in particular, hence my deals being predominantly about this area recently. Look back and there are lots of deals about all kinds of things from all kinds of places. In fact, having just checked I've actually posted 19 non-Chinese deals in the last 12 months, whereas you've posted 19 non-Chinese deals in 9.5 years. I win

Accusing me of self promotion suggests you believe I'm getting recompense for posting the deals. If you think so, accuse me directly/unequivocably and we'll take it from there.I'll see how you get on with your 2 deals next year...

Got one of these on order from the yoshop deal. Afaik it's the sweet spot for price/performance, proper LDS room mapping allows it to go around objects, cover more ground and cover what ground there is more thoroughly. Both the vacuum and the app can be set to english now. Generation 2 adds mopping which works about as well as dragging a damp mop around the floor can be expected to, not worth an extra £200 for that.

I've already got googly eyes and a name picked out, 'Noo-noo' from the teletubbies.

Every time this gets posted, I send the link to my wife.

Every time she receives the link, she just replies with one word - No

After watching the gadget show last week, all of these are a waste of money. Even the dyson they tested failed miserably.

I get this totally but they are cool. I know I can do a better job with my Vax but I think I could a better job on my lawn with garden shears but still persist with a lawnmower Embarrassing, I know.

This one is the real deal. It really helps around the house. Thought it was a gimmick at first and didn't think much if it.
Vacuumed right afterwards as a test and barely got much more. Probably the hard to reach corners it couldn't get.
In the end this does more vacuuming than I would because it can easily go under the bed/sofa/wardrobe

Dalek surely, because it won't go up stairs.

I haven't seen what you've seen and you haven't linked to it but I'm guessing the complaints are that these:
1) Don't clean that well
2) miss patches
3) fall down stairs
4) mess up your furniture
5) are expensive

These don't miss patches, fall down stairs, mess up your furniture (that's what the improved navigation fixes) and aren't that expensive (roomba 980 is £900 for comparison), so the big one is don't clean as well as a dedicated vacuum. There's a simple way to prove they're better. When's the last time you vacuumed under the beds and sofa? When's the last time you vacuumed your entire house? In my case it's months ago and never as I do one room at a time.

These vacuums will run every single day and cover the entire house including under beds, sofas and whatever they can fit under. They will do it regardless of whether you've had a good or bad day, whether you're tired or busy. They only ask that you empty their bins at the end of the day.

We call it MiMi Brilliant machine, saves us lot of time, app is great just don't set it to US server as it suggests.

Gearbest is good if you are willing to wait at least 1-2 months. Ordered so many times from them and each time it takes up to 2 months to arrive

£26.62 charge from DPD for customs on my brothers order. The customs charge should really be considered and included in the overall price of these.

It was you who brought up the subject of deals posted. If you can't stand the heat etc...

More deals and less moaning would be my advice.

Entering the code just puts me in an endless loop of having to sign in

My old Electrolux Trilobite is still going strong.. definately cleans better than a roomba or its clones. They were very expensive new though and over-engineered with sonar based room mapping.

It's also a case of the more it's used, the more it will pick up, a cumulative effect if you will. Because it's robotic, and easy to use, it's more likely to be used more often instead of someone manually vacuuming once a week.

Your Amazon server you mean? How do you do that? The Alexa skill is not available to install as it says it's available in Asia only?

You need to change your Kindle store country (I know it doesn't really make sense) to the US. This link should let you do it - amazon.com/mn/…ect

Once you've done that you can add the Mi (Asia) skill then change your country back. Download the Mi Home app from the app.google play store and make sure you set the server in the app to 'The United States (Singapore)' server

On the Amazon page for the Mi (Asia) skill you link your Mi account and then scan for devices. Should all work then

Brilliant, thanks for your help, this has worked (although thrown out people on my household account, but i'm contacting amazon to get this added back on).

Can't wait for this to arrive now! Ordered from HK. Anyone know how long it might take? First time ordering from this company.

Adding this to this thread in case people aren't checking the old thread any more!

Hmm, so I had the Neato Signature Pro xv for a year or so, but found it was really wearing down track lines all around the edges of things, and edge cleaning was non existent. I then got the Robovac 11 and must say it cleans pretty well, including the edges, but annoyingly it is just about the right height to get jammed under beds and sofa's as is quite a bit lower profile that the Neato, and has no magnetic 'dont cross' tape to lay down. Also, more frustratingly the scheduling is all or nothing (cannot select specific days) and half the time never works so it just simply doesn't go around. And thirdly, the flippin routing is atrocious with this model, it's forever doing one part, getting stuck in simple open areas, backwards and forwards constantly, it does my nut in! The Neato seemed far superior at routing and overall generally, just not as good at cleaning.

Has anyone had this vacuum running for a while and can comment with regard to my issues above, ie, is it the best of both would you say?

Thanks!

I avoided this.
It's better to have a direct relationship with the credit card company with the retailer rather than paypal in the middle.

Unless you aren't putting the charge on credit card ultimately. If the money's coming from an account then paypal wins.
