You can get a Sonoff UK plug version for around £10. I do love Xiaomi and the ZigBee is definitely handy but until Xiaomi starts making stuff with a UK plug this a no go for me. This thing would look so ugly with a UK adaptor in front and in the back of it. Thanks for the post though
Listing is misleading, wifi and zigbee are different things. Zigbee will need the Xiaomi hub, wifi doesn't, fairly sure this is really just Zigbee.
yep looks like Zigbee version needs a hub . plus non UK socket. cheaper wifi uk sockets are available

I get what you mean. I already have smart sockets however want to get everything on to Xiaomi... where I intend to install the sockets will be in garage so looks wise would not matter.

Have you seen these sockets for less £?
Aren't these for US plugs?

I haven't seen these specific sockets for less but I have seen ones (and currently am using ones) that are cheaper and work with both Google Home (which I use) and Alexa. Really depends what you are needing these for, if your garage has Wifi coverage, I wouldn't bother with this Xiaomi socket however if Wifi is a bit of an issue then the ZigBee will definitely be handy for you as the network coverage is up to 1.5KM (no joke). Hope that helps

P.S. I love Xiaomi and use them for almost everything but yeah i'd rather get a smart socket that already has UK plug (easier for mom and dad) :P

Picked up a Sonoff S20 UK plug from eBay (via China) for £10. Last firmware update was flaky, but after a few weeks they've fixed it and works fine.

I’ve got a thing where I want all my smart features controlled via one app - Xiaomi

As stated before I already have working smart plugs in the garage ... they run off a separate app though.

Yes can get smart plugs cheaper ... but not these at the price.

Maybe just a case of OCD :/)

Guessing these things use the Mi Home app which I use for the Xiaomi gateway, I guess it does what it says on the tin but if you ever use Alexa or Google Home you are certainly going to have issues as it is not compatible ..... Yet. If you are simply using it from your phone then yeah, maybe sticking with one brand might be a good idea. If you are needing multiple sockets though, why not just use their multi power adapter.

Not OCD, well perhaps a bit, but more an indicator that it's time to move on up and use something like Home Assistant which can control (just about) everything wherever it comes from whilst also moving it to a local solution so no more calling China constantly or sitting in the dark if the internet goes down.

I posted this deal, BOGOHP, for the Smartthings jet-set. If you haven't got a zigbee-only Xiaomi hub, and have a Zwave usb or ST, these have been reported as reliable.
I love the Xiaomi sensors for the GB price, but this plug always seemed a bit odd for the UK market, when you can use a Sonoff or the Zwave above.

I would avoid the Zwave stuff. ZigBee is much more cost effective and so far I have not had an issue with connection. You can also get a ZigBee USB adapter + Raspberry Pi + Mozilla IOT and make your own gateway or buy the Xiaomi gateway for quick and easy access (albeit without Alexa/Google Home support ....yet)

I have the Xiaomi hub, linked to my Pi with my Zwave usb. Each radio has its own benefits. The Zigbee is good for in the house, but the range of the Zwave is better for sensors in the garden etc. I'm sticking with the Xiaomi hub for now, can't afford the price of the Conbee Zigbee usb.
Anyone know where to get fused china to uk plug converters?
