Anyone tried these?
yes, you will need to download a app to phone for setup (couldnt find Wins http address), delivery took approx 2 - 3 weeks
Excellent device. Just ordered two more after receiving one last week. Was getting zero reception at the bottom of the garden, 30 metres from the router. With this getting steady 20 to 25 Mbps.

Seemed to work in the house,

Have two of these at home back in China, work really well, nothing to lose at this price IMO
this device works great but as with all repeaters sucks the wifi / internet dry: I found my internet performance drastically reduce: it seems they halve bandwidth at times which is a real pity

Slightly less if you let PayPal do the currency conversion, and probably even less if you have a fee-free credit card. (Allegedly) faster shipping too. Thanks for the link.

Read online you have to change the security type on your sky router, once the extender is setup you can change back to original type (WPA, WPE etc.)

The "Mi Home" App (on Android anyway). Also controls/interracts with dozens of their other devices/gizmos eg the Yeelight LED lights often seen on HUKD.

I'd imagine the App just programme the USB stick's flash memory with the SSID/password of your WiFi Access Point so yes. It's not like your phone has to be on/there for Mi devices to work. (That said the USB stick MAY rely on your Mi Account to find out which SSID/password to continue to use - though it'd only get to the a/c thru the cloud via your Wifi AP I guess, so don't try to delete your Mi Account, just uninstall the App on your phone.)

Would you be able to just plug and play with these once you have the app - I'd be looking at using it with hotel wifi and I'm not sure if it would work.

Ive tried it with my phone hotspot with the same WPA2 setting and it worked but not with the sky router
So am I right in thinking that once this is charged, you can just walk around the house with it? Sorry if that sounds like a stupid question but I've only ever seen the ones that you leave plugged into an electric socket before.. Mind blown.. This is some sorcery!
How long does it last once charged? Thanks!

Good question actually. It needs to be plugged into a USB power source to work (it's not chargeable) - so something like a switched-on PC/laptop or pre-charged powerbank or similar.

Pretty sure it needs a USB port to power it

They are talking about sky q which is tv that is sent over wifi to a box not connect to a dish. It will work with a sky router for Internet just like any other router.
