The codes are popping up all the time. I'd definitely wait for a cheaper deal on these. I've had 3 at sub £9 and not taken up codes for the same reductions many times

What I paid last week.

Thanks ordered one for £10.76, it didn't allow two but thats no problem, slowly slowly snag these at around a tenner as good reviews from. HUHD regulars.

Thanks - the limit on the £8.40 deal was two and I needed three so didn't mind paying the extra £1.69. Coming by train, I believe!

The ones i bought on the £8.40 gearbrst deals are coming by europe railway as well never had this type of shipping before from gearbest or banggood it must be something new it'll be interesting to see how long it takes

I think Gearbest et al are shooting themselves in the foot by continually having the Yeelights on offer as everyone seems to wait for the offers! Not that I'm complaining, of course Our bungalow is now completely kitted out with them at a total cost of under a hundred quid! That's 9 in use and 2 as spares! How much would Philips Hue have cost, including the hub??

Kudos to xiaomi, they are making the smart home so much more accessible to householders.

Totally Alexa compatible. Get them set up and never touch a light switch again.

more power wastage in standby mode.... prefer the old school reliable method of turning the switch off!

Version 2 (out next month) will be 33% brighter (800 lumens) so worth waiting? We have them in lamps as well as celing light in our living room - they are so cheap it's not a huge commitment to buy several for a large room.

Hi i see you have purchased a few times from the gearbest deals on these have any of yours been sent by europe railway registered. The 2 i ordered on the last deal £8.40 are coming by europe railway and the 2 Mijia ir sensor night lights also coming by rail.
On the final checkout page it shows 2 options for shipping air mail registered and europe railway registered both £0.40 and both are selected and i couldn't deselect either of them the air mail registered was in bolder print but it still ended up as europe railway This has not happened to any of my many previous orders on gearbest. Did you order from the £8.40 deal last week if so are yours also coming by europe railway.

I'd want to see one of those torn down. The current models get pretty toasty which won't be good for the LED lifespan. If they increase the power consumption without adding some extra heatsinking that'll be even worse for lifespan. That said I've not had one fail on me yet.

Mine from gearbest for £8.40 ordered on 16th, shipped on 20th arrived today. Fastest i got so far.

Sounds good!
ps
when are you buying a Xiaomi smartphone?!, they should give you one FREE will it be N4, Mi A1 or Mi Mix 2?

Are these bright enough to use as a main ceiling light (when set to white). It would be for my bedroom, so won't have to be super bright.

You can have these as bright (or not) as you need, they are fully tuneable

Have to say that this price is quite dear for these, £6:87 being the all time cheapest

Currently have 2 running in the living room, I'd guesstimate they are equivalent to old 40w bulb on white...

One came from Gearbest in 2 weeks, bang good was 3 weeks, but allow a month and be pleasantly surprised.

mines shipped with CJAHAM and i ordered on the 20th

These are great and I've been using them for some time...BUT...the latest update to the app is terrible....really! Existing users, don't update. I used one in a bedside light for it's excellent "sunrise" timed setting to gently raise the light from red to white, before my alarm went off. This doesn't work anymore. No scheduled on/off works with the latest update. The previous app was faultless. Change for the sake of change ?

I had one of these delivered today. I've been using Hive (RGBW) bulbs for the last few weeks and while the colours of the Yeelight is very close to the Hive bulbs, the white suffers a little, with warm white almost non-existent - like a dark yellow. That said, I could have bought 3 of these for the price of 1 Hive bulb.

The yeelight app is good with plenty of options and works seamlessly with Alexa.

Overall, I won't be using these as my main lights due to the warm white issue. Great if you like day white, which apparently, is better for you but I like the warm cosy look of warm white in the main room.

Is the Yeelight it worth £9-£10? 100% yes. I'm hoping the next version will be more comparable to Hive.
Edited by: "WuckFit" 30th Oct

Rubbish! Try to have sense of its app or even better control the bulb efficiently. Tried to set it up with the timer but it never worked. Waste of time.

Thanks for checking a bit of info for you i know you are a big xiaomi fan like me and on the MIUI forum today they announced that the first official xiaomi store in western europe is opening on November 7th in Spain (Madrid) so who knows we may eventually get a UK one or perhaps order custom free from Spain

If anyones interested.... I battled massively to get this integrated with Alexa. You can change your Amazon Kindle marketplace/country to the USA and get the Mi (Asia) skill. But I found that stopped Amazon music from working on my echo dot (said my Amazon music market wasn't set up correctly even though I had changed the country back).

Solution was to use this skill (which is available in the UK) amazon.co.uk/gp/…MAD

Agreed. I get what they are trying to do but I'm finding some connection issues.

I think they need to update the app and patch these issues. More options than the previous app but the previous app worked alot better and smoothly.

Love the lights, very bright and easily controlled for the basics of swtiching on and off, colours etc. BUT I can't find any option on the Yeelight android app where you can do things such as set times for on/off, colour flow (what on earth is that?!!), wake up light etc that the FAQ's on the app say are possible!!.....Very frustrating indeed as I am not able to use the lights to their full potential when I have no options on the app to do these things!!

When you go into the app ( i assume you already got one light set up in my device ) tap on your light to open the page where you can choose colour on the top reccomended, white, color across the top
Now select the triangle symbol on the bottom of the page the page that opens there are options to set timer, schedules, etc
If you are looking to set a scheule for times on and off select schedules then on next page select add schedules i think you can then set up on off schedule hope this helps not tried it myself

Thanks to this thread bought two from Gearbest and one from here with a couple of adapters to jump on this bandwagon and see what the fuss is about!

Thanks for the info, that's pretty exciting news! it can't be long until they come to the UK, they only need to look on here to realise there's a growing demand for/interest in their products. Plus this news also discredits the oft expressed opinion that they won't launch in Europe/UK because of fear of lawsuits from the likes of apple and Samsung (who tend to sue each other frequently anyway!).
