Excellent bit of kit, don't need one... nearly bought one.
Ideal if your wi-fi coverage is a bit shady, You can use multiple units off the same router as well. My brother uses a similar one for getting a better wifi signal in his outdoor man-cave/log cabin. (Bit jealous)

Xiaomi... is there anything they can't do?

Are these seen as a separate connection within your home network?

would also like to know that. on a side note the absence of 5Ghz is a deal breaker for me.

what a dreadful company.

They look neat but I imagine you need an adaptor which would spoil it somewhat.

Anyone had any luck finding reviews for this?

I know its a good price for something Like this but I would rather suggest if you having wifi issues to try do some basic trouble shooting first, depending on your house situation first do a wifi analysis with an app failing that if you really do need to boost your signals rather get a Access Point they do cost more but performance will be huge comparison to something like this especially if you are trying to stream or game.

Great price - would've have considered & even bought if it was Banggood or almost any other.

You mean Gearbest, don't you, as Xiaomi are absolutely fine.

Are you joking? Gearbest is one of the best Chinese websites I use. I’ve spent £1000’s and never had any problems getting money back, customer service is brilliant.

Chinese plug so you will need an adapter. Which will look dreadful.

I concur with Bigbuds, they must favour you perhaps for spending a lot with them, awful in my dealings with them!

Great company, no problems at all with them

I bought one of the smaller Xiaomi range extenders and that has a USB connection (currently sits in an old Samsung phone charger). Seems very good range and usefully portable. Only $5.69 (say £4.30) including postage during Aliexpress 11.11 sale.

If it's like the TP-Link one I have, you set it up as a device on your main network and you connect to its own ssid. Use auto network switching and you will automatically connect to it when it has the strongest signal.

Oh. So you get a Homer Simpson gift with it as well, do yo?

I'm in!
