Wow, was really excited to see the specs on this phone, and again xiaomi haven't disappointed, if the global version is anywhere near this price, then this phone will be THE phone to buy if you are on a budget, nothing will come close.

Have some well deserved heat @BUCKUM2 mate.

Why do people give heat to foreign phones??????

Perhaps it's because they know a bit more than you...
Xiaomi really made a leap forward with the latest incarnation of the redmi note. Got rid of the notch, put even better CPU inside, upgraded already good camera + finally stuck usb type -c on it. Well done!
Megapixels arent everything! I'll await the reviews of the camera

Yeah i know, ala honor, obviously with having the honor guy at the helm in the UK, it's clearly his hair rained scheme, will probably work in all fairness
Hoping for global version 4/64 for around £170 and I'll bite, as will everyone else I'd imagine lol

If you can name one single wholly manufactured British (or more probably in your tiny, imaginary world, English!) smartphone then I'll consider giving it some heat.

Waiting.......

My mi max 1 isn't global and it's worked fine for over 2 years, maybe I'll buy this note 7 to replace our note 5, I'm liking the red colour.

There is a good chance you would so best to factor it in almost all sellers on aliexpress will put a lower value down to keep any charges low. My last 2 phones from aliexpress got caught for customs £13 odd on both and that included the £8 royal mail charge for paying it on my behalf so just £5 odd for the custom vat charge seller declared a value of around $40ish.
If you are not in a hurry to get the phone you should hang on for 4 to 6 weeks this is because at the moment this is pre-order it goes on sale on the 15th in China. Also this is the Chinese version so will not have Google services (play store) installed and no band 20 support so no 4g on O2 or their piggyback suppliers like Tesco, GifGaf etc it will have English language though. The reason i say 4 - 6 weeks is that i would expect the price for this to drop by at least £20 over the next 4 weeks as it becomes more available and also there could well be a Global version released within the next couple of months.

I think it's the same phone, The global release "we" would buy will be called Redmi Note 7, with a weaker variant no doubt called a Redmi 7 released too.

This phone and the Pro will be identical, the Pro label seems to be for the Indian market.

India's "Redmi Note 5 Pro" has different camera spec to the China/Global "Redmi Note 5". The "Redmi Note 6 Pro" was released as Global Version a month before reaching the India market and a regular Redmi Note 6 doesn't exist. The "Mi 8 Pro" isn't available in India and in China it's not called "Pro". It's just "Mi 8 screen fingerprint version". There's no consistency to the "Pro" label.
HEAT! Great find @BUCKUM2
Love my Note 5 only got it in November during the Amazon black Friday. But now wanting this. Think I'll wait 6 months or so though and get the global version with band 20 etc Great find though.
Xiaomi just get better and better

Yes will work ok in the UK the band 20 is the 800 Mhz frequency that O2 use for 4g so no 4g with a O2 sim or their piggyback networkers like Tesco and Gif Gaf but it does use HSPA + so the internet access is still very fast. I use a xiaomi mi 6 without band 20 with a tesco sim and i have no complaints on the internet access. If you use EE or 3 you should be ok with 4g as band 20 is not their main 4g frequency. As i stated in earlier comment there will be no Google services (play store etc) pre installed you will have to install them yourself there are loads of tutorials online on how to install it
