FAQ:
Do you need something else to make this work, or does it work on its own?
This needs a gateway connection

Can you connect this to a yeelight?
You can use this switch to control your yeelights but you need xiaomi gateway fro this to happen. (quote from @bednim )

Needs the gateway to connect to I think. I ended up using Logitech Pop gateway and switches and pairing with IFTTT but that was more like £60 for gateway and three buttons.
Can this ecosystem be made to pair with Google Home or Alexa?
Is there a latest model of this?
I have the xiaomi aqara water sensors, door and window sensors, and motion and lux sensors connected to my Smartthings device. Will be purchasing this. Also would like to mention something positive about Gearbest. 1 out of the 2 motion sensors I purchased from them was reporting inaccurate lux readings with a maximum value of 629 when it should have been 1000. After submitting a ticket to them and providing them some proof of the problem they gave me a couple of options including keeping the item and having a store credit applied for the purchase amount or send it back for a refund. Needless to say I went with box number one and will be getting this item with the credit. Props to Gearbest
Does this offer the long press option?

I also have the Aqara sensors but are connected to the Aqara Camera / hub. At the moment they are as useful as a chocolate fireguard as they are not sending notifications when triggered due to what we think is a server error. Xiaomi re not helping at all with this problem which has been reported by many.

So 3 options in total? 1 press, double press and long press? I've already ordered 1 previously but it looked abit different

Not a big fan of the camera hub I'd advise anyone starting up to get the standalone hub
I do wish they would release the lights in more styles (candle for example) and more fittings.

The smartthings app for each device (and depending on the device handler used) will show you an user interface for the 'thing'. I sent them screenshots of the app comparing the maximum values reported by smartthings for each of the motion / lux sensors when held up to a 980 lumens light bulb.
Is it easy to get the xiaomi devices like the yeelights, switches etc working with the Samsung smart hub?

I've got a xiaomi hub, few yeelights, motion sensor, door sensor and it works well. But the option to have devices from multiple manufacturers working from one hub is something I really want.
Yes 3 options, I have these and the square ones I prefer these, I've striped them down fix them inside a press down wall switch, had to buy a battery hold and do some soldering

I only ask as I have 10 and some show odd readings like this one is in a dark room and it’s showing as 8 but others are in light rooms and showing 0

Tbh I did consider not bothering for a claim as at least the motion part of the sensor worked fine, but as this has been maybe my 15th purchase with Gearbest I figured if we're going to be in a long term relationship, best get some ground rules in place

I have the standard gateway and the camera hub and they don't seem to play well together. I keep losing my automation settings as they seemingly fight for supremacy.
It should be easy enough to fix, but I don't have the time to sit down and play around with it.
Just a warning to those who have both and expect an easy plug and play solution.

I would first try removing and re-pairing the device(s). The motion sensor which I have and which works properly at first wouldn't show any motion activity but would show lux readings. I had to unpair and re-pair before it worked. The faulty lux sensor on the second one I also did the same with, about 4 times and each time, the motion worked fine but the max lux output was always 629 compared to 1000 lux of the first sensor. I held both up against a 980 lumen cool white bulb at 3700k to do my test .

Cool will give it a try
A top tip to anyone trying to pair xiaomi sensors with smartthings, I found that if you scanned using the smartthings app, often nothing would show. But if you refreshed your devices tab in the developer.samsung page a new 'thing' would appear. Assign the correct device handler to it and it would then also show on the app.

I think I'll unplug mine and see if my system works better or not thanks.

The camera hub was a pig to setup I had to use a hotspot on my phone at first to update the firmware.

What... is the air-speed velocity of an unladen swallow?
Not sure I need one but at that price may be good with my smart lights!
Anyone know where I can get yeelights for a good price? and do they make one with a bayonet fitting?

one of my Yeelights packed in two days ago. We have been using them with Alexa for about 5 months but it just stopped working! I am completely lost without it! I cannot even attempt to reset it as it does not switch on.

Can you see it in yeelight app?

Have you tried resetting it by turning it on and off 5 times quickly?

I have tried that but I thought the light had to be actually working an on when you do that? In terms of seeing it in the app, no it is not there at all!
Anyone have this? I just want a light bulb that can screw into my main fitting and can be set to come on a certain times.
Really need something like this to get me out of bed.

Liking this idea - how have you got it set up?
If someone comes across a deal for the wired wall switches please post. Got chandelier and spotlights in a few of my rooms and having the ability to use a physical switch as well as remotely is what I want. Thinking of going doing the hue route but I've been told that if I get the wired switches, then I can use normal bulbs with the xiaomi hub. No need for smart bulbs like hue.
Any good?
