Hi

Is this just simply another way of turning devices on? Apart from using your phone/app?

Can I program function on the hub to be linked to this switch? Example, close curtain, switch on yeelight light?

you can use it to control anything that the hub can control, so yes curtains, lights, radio, etc etc. If you want to control a yeelight then it needs to be connected to the hub and will no longer work with alexa (for now)
I've just ordered the gateway and 3 door/window sensors.
Could this be used with any of this?
Jesus, I'm so tech dumb now, got married...had kids and lost my mojo.
Heat added. Ordered - just able to order one per account at this price. Will allow me to test/play with the hub I ordered yesterday.
If it works with Smart Things I’m in. Looking for a button to trigger my hot water from the bathroom.

Ta, purchased.

The curtain motor is £74... any codes available for that?
Comment 3 functions
==================

As expected from Xiaomi : superb build quality, very well packaged and it works out of the box. Thought it will be only one function, but actually button it self can be used for 3 separate things since you can use click, double click and long press to bind it to something (unexpected and huge plus for this device). All in all i am blown away by this small gadget cant wait to add it to my OpenHab setup.

Anyone know what the difference is between this and the newer Aqara switch (other than the shape).

It does. You'll find the device handler on the ST community.
I do like the look and feel of the Aqara switch better it has 2 settings "one press" and quick "double press"

This switch has 3 settings those 2 and an added "long press" which makes it more functional.

See comment above "3 functions"

Jaysus. There must be a lot of HUKD mambers who closely resemble Jabba the Hut due to lack of exercise.
Not wanting to be funny but this company are renown for ripping people off. My advice is pay through PayPal. That way in the likely event you are ripped off you have protection. Me and quite a few others I have spoken to since have been stung by these shysters.

Hey, isn't pressing the "Get Deal" button exercise enough?!
This will work with gateway that was posted a few days ago won't it?

no idea, I wish I knew where people get these codes. Let me know how you get on with the motor, I'd quite like one but its a bigger investment than most of their stuff

To be fair to Gearbest there are many satisfied customers as well - myself being one of them!
As others have reported this switch works really well with its 3 switch modes.

Have one working as a front door bell button. (However be sure to program all click modes to ring bell as visitors won't realise distinction between a short and long press!)

Have another one set up to control sitting room Yeelights to one on, two off, long press reduce all by 25% brightness.
That's via a Xiaomi multi function gateway like this one
hotukdeals.com/dea…131

That uses "automation" and the old groups of lights that MiHome USED to offer, but I can't find it any more in latest MiHome App though existing automation of those "groups" continues works.
So if anyone knows how to control/setup groups in MiHome 5.0.29 then please share

(Incidentally there is also a more expensive "Original Xiaomi Mi Magic Controller" which is like a large die/cube which has even more operational switching/trigger modes!)

I know of 3 people including myself that have received empty boxes. Mine on a £200 phone which they offered me £12 full and final compensation after arguing the courier stole it so it wasn't their fault. Thank god I paid with PayPal. Just Google gearbest empty box for a myriad of examples. Not saying you shouldn't take a punt. Just saying make sure your protected.

I need to look back into this as I've not managed to make it work yet - something to go at the weekend!

The pairing process can be a pain but once it's paired, it's reliable!
So if I want to use this with yeelight, I have to pair the yeelight and this switch to multi function gateway hub?

However, I then won't be able to control yeelight by Google assistant?
I got and I've managed to pair it to Xiaomi Aqara smart camera that functions also as a gateway. The button is showing as online on the mi home app and I can create scenes with it for the camera and lights. But when I press, double press or long press it does nothing. It doesn't even show in the log. Any ideas what to do?
