If you reckon Xiaomi products are Chinese rubbish, then you probably shouldn't be commenting on this.

It's £8
heat added. These are good quality and easy to control. shame it's on GB as they take too long to ship. Hope BangGood drop the price to match
It was a good deal at £15, it's a great deal at £8.
I bought 3 got stung for 18 quid customs via DHL
4000K not so useful, no good for remote bedroom usage
Any of you guys have any problems with these? I brought a couple of the multicoloured ones last time, and i cannot get them to connect no matter how many times I try, that's with the latest BT Homehub
thanks, taking a chance at one of these despite having had fake Xiaomi delivered from Gearbest in the past. never had any smart lights before oO

Yes, I've had that too on other items as it's over the import limit. If you had just bought the one you should have been okay.
Mine don't work with Alexa, if they don't work out of the box you don't get any support.. plenty of other people in the same situation are not able to use these.

Have you turned off smart setup?
A colleague at work gave me one of his Yeelights to try out a while ago, I found the setup easy (using the Yeelight App), and I connected to my Amazon Echo no problem. I was really impressed, so when a cousin of mine was in Hong Kong a few weeks back, I got him to buy me a couple of the colour bulbs from the Mi Store - they were $139 each, so just under £14.

I installed them in the kitchen, and for some reason, I found it slightly harder to get the Alexa to talk to the bulbs for voice activation. I ended up having to unlink my login details, and then I deleted and reinstalled the Yeelight and Mi Home Apps (I was trying both apps out), I disabled and reenabled the Yeelight Skill in the Alexa App, and everything was working as when I tried my colleagues bulb.

There's a slight lag when using Alexa to turn the lights on and off, and when I say something like "Alexa, turn kitchen light orange" I actually get a reddish pink hue, though most other colours seem OK to me.

If these are genuine bulbs (I've never bought from Gearbest before, and heard mixed reviews) then this is a great deal.

turn the lights On and Off several times until the colors starts displaying and then use the Yeelight app on your phone and it should display the Yeelight xxx-xx under Wifi click on it and it should work. Had this issue yday and this was how i sorted it out.

the trick is to wait till the colors start projecting.
Is everyone who's having problems using the Singapore server for Alexa? It won't work with any other server. I've got a fair bit of Xiaomi things lately so all over their forums.
To reset the bulbs turn them on and off 5 times and wait for it to cycle colours/do something on the white bulb.

I have done all this and mine still do not connect. I can control them via the Yeelight app on my phone, I can enable the yeelight skill in alexa, and then it simply does not discover them in alexa.

How did you complete that step?

I can't remember exactly, as it was a few weeks ago, but I believe that I went into the Alexa app, hit the menu icon, Smart Home, and hit the Discover button. All of which I'm sure you'll have done.

You're not the only one to have issues, seems there are others where the Alexa app doesn't ever find the bulbs...

Surly you mean the BT "Smart" Hub.. i tried one its rubbish,
Although I must add they are absolutely superb and turn on/off almost immediately with google assistant via ifttt
I have the RGB version and I love it. I admit that it was a little bit of a pain to set up, so much so that I left it for 2 weeks before resetting it and trying to set it up again at which point it worked straight away. Go figure. I guess it's tricky at times as it only connects to 2.4Ghz wifi and I'm always connected to 5Ghz at home.
Thanks - been meaning to try one of these lamps. Is it true the 'white' bulb is brighter than the RGB version, when the RGB is displaying white?
Is there GU10 version of these ?
You need to setup a recipe/applet in IFTTT to use these with alexa...then the world is your oyster. (plus the yeelight app to connect the bulb by wifi initially NOT mi home)

Plenty of guides on Google....

Didn't have any issues getting my bulb to work with Alexa, but it gives a very white light - even though dimmable we found it too hard on the eyes in the sitting room and bedroom so it is relegated to over my sewing machine where I do need that brightness.
Anyone having issues with setting these up use the the yeelight app not the mi home app and set location as Singapore. I had mine working via google home and IFTTT within 10 mins. The light is a little harsh on the ole eye balls at its brigthest but dimmed a little gives a nice glow.

There isn't, I wish there was as my kitchen is rife with them, however I see that IKEA do them, and apparently they'll be Alexa compatible some point this year...

I believe it is recommended that when signing into the associated app that you set the in app location to China. I have a number of the colour variants and they are excellent. Only gripe I have is only being available as E27 format

i'll buy them off you for a knockdown price! i have several and all work fine for me.
Might be a dumb question, but you don't need to buy a separate hub or anything for these to work ? Even if you dont have Alexa?

If they are anything like the colour ones I have, then they can be controlled via the yeelight app on a smart device.
