I have both the white and the colour one from Gearbest. Both work with Alexa and IFTT. Certainly a lot cheaper to play around with than the Hue and other smart bulbs.
Looking for the strip light if there are any good deals on that, this is a good price for the LED bulb.
I have two of the colour ones and they work great with Alexa. I would say they are well worth the money. Si
Not sure why this is going cold. I too have quite a few of these, both colour and white, quality is amazing.

Those of you using with Alexa, what control do you have? Is it limited to on/off/dim or for example can you set a sleep timer? We use the sleep timer in our sons bedroom to give him time to read before going to sleep.
If people are looking to convert from Bayonet to E27 I found a couple of low cost ideas using Ikea items.

Easiest and cheapest, use these adaptors.

I prefer to replace the cord and E27 fitting together so I buy these, cut the cord to the length I want and discard the other items such as the plastic cover. The cable you get with these is nice quality, braided and looks nice when installed.

Those not using Alexa there is a great Yeelight App, I found it works better if you set it up as Singapore as your locale.

Sorry. New to this kit. Can I use this purely with my phone? Or must I have a hub?

No hub needed. You link these bulbs using the app to your WiFi. Then use the app to control them. Works really well within the app but you can't beat asking Alexa to turn on the lounge light! Si
Can you control the other functions of the lamps with Alexa Si??
£9.29 if you use the gearbest app
Showing as £10.41 for me
£10.41 online and £9.35 on the App for me.
Can you still use the normal light switch to turn it on/off?

Can you control the other functions of the lamps with Alexa Si??

Other functions? If you mean dim, brighter and changing colours then yes you can. For example I can say" Alexa lounge light brightness 50%" .Si

Yes you can. However if there is no power the lamp is 'offline', so you cannot switch it back on remotely until you have switched the normal light switch back on. If the light switch is on but the lamp is off you simply cycle the light switch through to off and back on. Very simple and user friendly.

Yes the light switch will work as normal. Si

Thanks. I have been looking at a few YT videos and can see people are having a lot of fun with these Dot's.

Black seems to sell out quickly and I wonder why it is more popular than white.
There's alot of people that have some awesome looking setups. I'm just glad when Alexa doesn't ignore me like everyone else in the house!
tried to order through the app but after linking to my PayPal at the bottom of the form after address and phone number it is asking for a tax id??? any suggestions?
I think you must have something accidentally ticked or something like that. Hasn't ever asked me that.

Si are you using the Yeelight Beta App? Seems the Beta is now closed and pending approval on the Skills store.
I don't think the app is beta but I think the actual skill is. I had to contact yeelight to be a beta tester. If that's correct about it closing then it shouldn't be long before it's an official skill. I haven't had any email or notification about that which I would expect being a tester. Look at me showing off about being a tester, all I did was reply to an email!

Thanks for putting up the link, I had no idea it had been submitted. It works really well in beta at the moment. When it is released it will make the Phillips hue bulbs and others seem quite expensive in comparison.
Although great bulbs, One annoying issue (I believe also exists on hue bulbs too) is you cant set the default startup light setting, so if someone switches off from the switch, the default is a very white light rather than one you prefer to set most of the time, I wonder if any of the other brands allow this. (yes you can set from app and maybe even have a trigger to set upon connection, but you'd of thought this would have been an option)

You can in the Yeelight App.

Select the lamp, set the default brightness, from the menu top right select default brightness and press save. You can also choose Automatic State Saving which caters for power cuts etc.

Thanks, ordered.

There is an Alexa thread here, for anyone interested.
The official Yeelight Skill is now available on Amazon Skill Store.
