Work with IFTTT - brings everything together
If This Then That ( or IFTTT ) is both a website and a mobile app that launched in 2010 and has the slogan "Put the Internet to work for you". The idea is that you use IFTTT to automate everything from your favourite Apps and websites to App-enabled accessories and smart devices. IFTT has become the ultimate automation service for small tasks between Internet-connected services. Whether on the Web or with selected Apps on iOS and Android, IFTTT can handle anything its member service "channels" support. When user-specified events occur, follow-up tasks are triggered and handled.
There are numerous combinations ( also called "recipes" ) on IFTTT that can make your life easier. These links consist of just two elements: a Trigger ( If This ) and an Action ( Then That ) – For example, If you own a Xiaomi smart light, you could use IFTTT to automatically turn on the light every time you're tagged in a Facebook photo. In another example, you could set your light to be turned on, if motion is detected in your home when you're not at home.

The product has passed Alexa certification and could be voice controlled by Amazon Echo

Same here.
Looking for something 5m minimum up to 10m.
Still a decent price though

Yesterday got my gateway and all the bits to complete the Xiaomi Smart home.
Brilliant kit and cheap comparing to other brands.
Have 2 doors with the sensors set to go off as alarm and turn lights on. PIR on the hall lights. Temperature sensors, other switches and buttons doing all sorts.

So far very happy. Only problem is the app isn’t 100% English but good enough to understand.

Is it Google Home compatible also? Doesn't this have scene matching?

I don't think Xiaomi make this in a 5m or longer. Shame as we're just having a new floor and skirting boards fitted and this would've looked nice.

I don't have an Amazon Echo, although was thinking of grabbing a Dot in the sale.

Does this have a compatiable iPhone App?

Nice one mate. Will have a proper look at these then.

It does have it yes, anything yeelight does so far that I've come across

Still the massive power brick putting me off this. By the time it has the UK adaptor it would not fit without having to move the whole TV unit forward. Will they ever do a UK power supply?

good deal, but these don't look to be individually addressable

If you buy multiple strips of these, can you connect them together (i.e. daisy chain them?)

I have android but the Mrs uses ios, we have 5 of the bulbs but the app is compatible with the strips to. Hope it helps!

It helps a lot mate, thank you. Looks like a cost effective way to sort out some cool lighting I can control from my phone. I have Hive installed which is really handy, so i'd like more of that kind of thing in the house!

Yes you can purchase multiple strips and they will all work off the app at the same time.

No you can cant connect them together thats the only bad side.

Whats the length?
Edited by: "kev_koc" 14th Nov

Tells you in the production information thats posted in OP. 2000mm (2M)

anyone who has this let me know what length the cable from the plug to the light strip is?

Thinking it'd be nice for an ambient light feature, but it'd need to have a long enough cable to allow it to be plugged in at standard socket height, and reach an apex ceiling (about 4 - 4.5ft high)

EDIT: Nevermind, you can't daisy-chain the strips so it's no good

I bought one of these the other day as I wanted to be able to daisy chain as well, it works with normal RGB strips, easier enought to set up in the magic home app and connect up with Alexa

Where can I get a fart cushion?

Ordered, thanks

Try the FLS-PP controller from Dresden electronics. I have two powering >5m of cheap 5050 RGBW light strip from Amazon. Much cheaper than the alternatives and compatable with Hue/Alexa etc.

Ok silly question 16 million colours, Can it display White ?.

Here's an alternative solution I suggested in a previous Yeelight deal.

Yes.

RGBW is superior, but RGB will generate a fairly decent whitish white.
If you want a pure, more illuminating white, go for RGBW.

RGB vs RGBW
Edited by: "Stimpington" 14th Nov

Had my eye on this - 5m, can link together, good price in my opinion at £41 and works with Alexa. But can't figure out what bulbs I could pair it with to work as one light scene... Anyone here any idea on this??

Want these in the kitchen, so i think ill wait for some rgbw ones.
Cheers Stimpington for the link.

Had one a while and well worth it. It's on the back off my telly for some ambient lighting, dont use the house lights just this.
Yeelight app is really good as well

Does this need a hub?

Thanks - is the app usable? The Xiaomi app is superb hence my interest in the original prodcut, but if this one is good, then I'm happy to try it out!

Picture on site seems to show multicolour strip which is not possible.

UK plug?
