Don't forget to add on the fines for taking the kids out of term time
Don’t forget about the virus too!
Anyone found a decent deal for Sept? Thomas Cook collapse still have the prices 30% above the norm.
Good deal btw ...

With the collapse of Thomas Cook last year and now the Coronavirus spreading like wildfire I wouldn't be surprised if a few more travel companies go under this year. Probably safe enough because it's not that far away but you never know what financial difficulties these companies are in.
Good price, have some heat!

We’re looking at October but don’t dare book now, the virus will hit and I’m not worried about it but if it’s hitting here or USA while your holiday is planned it’ll be ruined. This year it’s worth risking booking up last minute.

I heard the eminent travel writer, Simon Calder, on the radio yesterday saying something along the lines of "Don't book months in advance" and advocating last minute bookings.

And here's me thinking my April trip to the Algarve was a late booking when I made it last Dec!

That seems to be across the board not just Florida. Jet2 need to up their game and start doing Florida. I read at work that DNATA were going to start a charter airline to pick up the Thomas Cook routes but it hasn't materialised as yet

Most schools I'd like to think are reasonable, I've never had a problem taking the kids out during term time. Usually it's only once every 2-3 years though and I've always wrote a polite letter to the head

Maybe it's just ours that are strict then but here are the policies for a school in Nottinghamshire:

When an unauthorised absence (including unauthorised family holidays) is more than 3 DAYS
OR totals more than 3 days (e.g. 7+ sessions) over a 6-WEEK ROLLING PERIOD, the School will
inform the Local Authority and request that the family is issued with a Fixed Penalty Notice.
