I love proper bacon but this stuff is sublime too.

Oscar Mayer bacon for just £1 a pack instore at ASDA. Pack says introductory price of £1.69 but shelf label says £1 and scans at £1.

£2.09 at Sainsburys which used to be the only stockist near me.

Found in Cwmbran store.

The white slime is salt water, the result of puffed up salt water bath curing, the best bacon is dried cured,in my experience american bacon is knowhere near as lean and is very fatty, having lived there.

It's not as lean as it's completely different. British bacon is usually back bacon whilst American bacon is belly, very much like our streaky bacon but with liquid smoke. Different types of bacon but they both have their merits.
